Wow! Those look great. You should make a mod based around the American west or at least come out with a few custom battle units. I would rep you if I could.

Looks like a pretty good start to something awesome.

Now you just need to throw in those M16A2 Assault Rifles. (Kidding)

US Infantry did not have yellow/golden stripes.
I think it was infantry light blue, artillery red, cavalry yellow ( maybe I get infantry/artillery mixed up ).
Nevertheless thos eare some nice looking units.

You got it right (which is why arty unit radio call signs sometimes begin with "Red Leg"). Having said that, all Custer's troopers were cavalry, albeit fighting mostly dismounted in this action. The yellow stripe is appropriate in this case.

    Kung,

these look great, the Custer figure is quite cool and realistic.

if you don't mind a few happy critiques I'd love to share some with you, but let me know first. I used to study and work with original M1870-80 uniforms and cavalry accoutrements, and believe me it feels good to have this put into a TW mod! The time period was fascinating. If you are interested in Custer's Last Stand, there is a book for you to read, "To Hell with Honour." absolutely fascinating read. PM me though!
Yes, I hate the fact RTW is out and I still have a Japanese title. Come on now admins- let's get with the program.

I've always been interested in this

BTW, doesn't the commander use the colt as a sword ?

Hello thanks for your comments ; I got really busy doing this
U.S units Infantrymen ready in this updated pack : http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1752

Dismounting the cavalry wasn't difficult; The modding of general G.A. Custer has given me the idea of 2 optionals jackets : Skin jacket (the one used at the little big horn river) and the official blue jacket ( washita river)

I have put them both in the pack
This is the picture I took for the skinning ; I've got other pictures but not so clear as this one:

    Legend of West

If only I knew more about modding ...I could get rid of those alfa channel problems

...and I have given Custer a Colt dragoon (Used as a sword; ....I can't make it work):

Now ...I hope I could do the texture for a Northern Tribe ( Lakota style ) so we could really remake Indian Wars as historical battles

You should make a campaign map of the American west.

I would really like to install this mod in Americas; the Apachean mod with the US cavalry; Artillery serpentines; and apaches all played fine in custom battle; but when I installed this, Americas would crash.

I would like to see Confederate Army versions of all these units, so can recreate battles like Picacho pass, Glorietta pass and the "Battle for the Bridge" in The Good,The Bad, and The Ugly ..;-), Sibley vs Canby!

Spain vs Apachean in Americas custom battles.

Select the American cavalry and artillery unit.

Select any combination of Apache units available.

    Start battle:

How else would one play your mod?

Installed infantry, Americas would not start; CTD.

I've since uninstalled/reinstalled all of Kingdoms and haven't reinstalled your

mods yet, but want to soon..

I have put some Updates to the download section:
    Update Uscavalry Infantry :
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1796
This pack contains my latest update regarding US Infantry & Cavalry 3/01/2008

Horses : removed medieval texture on the back ; added an American saddle & Stirrup
U.S units : changed the original straight sword for a Cavalry Sabre

in order to change the Horse:
Create a NEW Textures folder in C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\americas\data\unit_models\mounts\heavy_horse
    Pass the heavy_horse_spain & heavy_horse_normal.texture in
    Add the 3 mount_heavy_horse_lod0 , 1 ,2 mesh in the hevy_horse folder

in order to add the Sabre instead of the straight (spanish) sword :

Just change the Textures & Mesh files in the folder from my Mod previously downloaded here :

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1752 (latest with G.A Custer officer)

    or

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1696 (first release)
