Cooler and more historical Spartan hoplites!

First, download this spartan skin made by ATG(Since it owns):

Then go to your data folder, then export_descr_unit.
Search for spartan, and you will find the spartan hoplite data.

Then make it look like this :

You can also use this for other hoplites.
I made this(It has made before, so I don't take all the credit for it) Because I hated to see the spartans having 6 meters in spear lentgh, so I gave them the short_pike attribute which gives them about 2 meter long spears. That is about the lenght the REAL doru spear used by the hoplites .

I also made them able to walk/run in formation when the special ability button is disabled, which makes it faster for them to get in phalanx formation when you enable it.

I removed their swords so they use their spears more often. I also gave them a metal sound when hit at instead of the cloth-like sound.

I too want to see screenshots of it. In the download thing, it didn't even show any. An important factor is that each download at least has a picture or two of what it contains. That always can help the player decide whether or not to download it.

By the way, it sounds like it'll look cool.

giving them the shorter spears will ultimately make them weaker so did you compliment this by giving them something else or a bonus? im not too sure about removing the swords. do they keep on thrusting when an individual gets too close?

I removed the swords, since they switch to them as soon as they start fighting.

But yeah, Ill try giving them some bonuses.

BTW, the short_pike attribute is very buggy, which is why most mods don't use it... Better to just use a dense formation, give them an overhand spear grip and voila! Spartan Hoplites in the Classical Grek phalanx.

i've seen those spartans ,they look cool

but eum, they're not actually more historical :hm:
i mean, in that time (roman etc) the spartans didn't look like that anymore, nor where they the strong men from the old hellas

but they do look cool
