Help with rome total realism

I think this mod is interesting but my laptop cannot handle the new unit graphics etc. Is there anyways to install the mod with maby less quality units? The unit detail in the options doesn't seem to work right for these mods.

RTR 6 Gold/RTRPE has lods and sprites for each unit so it will function exactly the same way vanilla RTW did. If you lower the details for unit settings(Video options in game and choose advanced iirc) the lower models will be shown from close range and those are easier on your PC. Plus, the sprites will kick in from a closer distance and it will again make it easier. If you use RTRPE try the add-on that changes the grass settings as they were in vanilla. Apart from that you can only reduce some other options in graphics like the ones for shadows, grass, vegetation etc.
