    Default Help with Mongols

Hey, not sure if the post should go here, but it seems like I lose out on one of the defining points that defeat mongol/timmy armies. Sieges. At the moment my comp shoots me in the face with lag at the sight of a gatehouse in a developed city or castle. It's really slow untill the game crashes. So I have to autoresolve, which always leaves me with NO garrison for the next foe. So basically is there a way to reduce lag? I have my setting at the autodetect and have a large unit size. Is it just that my comp is ****?

Also, has anyone had any luck in merely allying with mongols?

Try not looking into the thick of the battle but instead look at an empty horizon. Cities already cause some lag and it gets worse with lots of troops in a single screen.

Allying with the Mongols doesn't give any good results from what I've heard. Maybe it's different if you use an AI mod.

Reduce the unit size and graphics. Even then you'll have problems running at 6x speed and moving aroung the battlefield. Citadels and Huge Cities cause a lot of slowness apparently because of all smoke, ect. as well as their size.

Renco, I have the same problem. That's why I always face them in the open.

You got to take out quality and detail. You might wanna lower the Resolution. Take out anti-lasing, and other useless stuff.

The Mongols? Do you win? Who are you (what faction?)?

Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, usually with heavy casualties. But at the end I wiped them out, therefore you can say I won .

I met the Timurid horde as the Turks, and fought them all the way from Bagdad to Antioch, where I finally destroyed their last army.
In the same campaign I met the Mongols in central Europe. It was late in the campaign and I had very good , experienced units and the Mongols didn't pose any threat .

Playing as England, I managed to take all of the Holly Land from Mongols, driving them into the Russia.

In my current HRE campaign, the Mongols just invaded, so I'll meet them soon.

mongols will usually accept offers of alliance if you've got a good rep.

but it wont last long at all if you're in one of their target cities.

they will break alliances for antioch, jerusalem or baghdad if they are heading that way, same turn if they're nearby

however if you don't own a city that they are after then an alliance might survive until they settle, then they are just like any other faction.

Listen I am not sure if that will help you at all BUT there is a bug when attacker puts the ladders by the wall and then all of them group in one place and usually use only one ladder etc. When that happens the performance goes down the drain.
Also you can try lowering the settings to small unit size lowest graphics just for siege with them - might help might not.
I know that I wouldnt meet them bastards out in the open, I always let them bleed at my walls untill they got last stack or two...

I suggest you Buy a new PC. lol

I picked up a cheap 7300GT 512MB few weeks ago, Runs very well

    http://s144.photobucket.com/albums/r...t=Graphics.jpg

Theres a screen from a Skirmish i was testing
I Can max at around 7000 or 8000 units on the battlefield before I start to lag, thats on High Graphics.

the Graphics card cost me only 70$, Check it out at staples.

Otherwise What i suggest doing to lower the amount of lag is Lowering the Unit size, and make sure your on lowest graphics possible, Even then you shouldn't lag, Otherwise its very hard to tell if We don't know what your system specs are.
