Default The One Thing I Dislike about Roma Surrectum

One of the things that really kept me playing RTW even though M2TW was released was the fact that when you zoomed out, away from your units, the game rendered them as a toned-down 3D model.

Sure, it was toned-down, but as you were far enough away from the model, it didn't matter. And it was 3D.

M2TW, however, introduced some thing that when you zoom away from your units, they aren't rendered as toned-down 3D models, but as 2D models that look like crap.

However, Rome: Total War, though it came before M2TW, rendered them as toned-down 3D models, as I've already said. It was better.

For some reason in Roma Surrectum, they've apparently adopted the M2TW way of rendering models from a distance: as crappy looking 2D blobs of color models.

Aside from that the game is great.

That's due to the sprite issues. The team is working to fix that.

    Yea what he said.
"So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show."

And it is only a temporary fix, as many of the sprites are 'as good as we could find'. RS2 will have all new sprites made for it.
