Well I had 123 troops, and I was scotland, fighting a battle at dublin, they had 435 troops, along with galloglaiche's

on Rome I played 120 v 4000

I won

I played on moon river and was Greece I had some Sparten hoplites the enemy had 4000 peasants and I kicked his arse into the ground, ( which isn't really surprising)

Hmm.... 300 men (me, playing as Moors), against roughly 1200, (two French armies, one full, one not too big). I ended up winning with about 30 losses and a ridiculous amount of prisoners. Moral of the story: Mountains are more important than they seem.

What about this one...I had 42 cavalry troops (Bodyguard unit) against 360 enemies (3 units of crossbowmen) and I won! Lost 4 men in that battle. They got hit by arrows before the impact.

When I read the thread title, I thought: "how the ******* is it possible to win the campaign with just 100 men?!"

Then I read your post and though: "oh, great, what a heroic victory..."

as HRE i won a battle with 606 men... (no general unit in my army) against Mongols. They had 2 full stuck armies - about 861men in first attacking force and 994 men in the other.
i was defending a castle and i am really proud on the strategy and deployment of my men. I managed to kill both Mongol generals and kill 1588 of their men and captured 13...i lost only 306 of my men =)
i played that battle for about 2 and a half hours =) It was my best victory ever i must say.

Ive won with 500 vs around 1500 all the time. Good General plush good terrain or castle or just a city and lots of infantry.

Also, on Rome Total War i used to win as Greece with a MONSTER general and a sweet phalanx. 500 vs anything and i would win. I steamrolled Rome and Egypt on Hard mode.

Well, I am playing with the Byz Empire and I got sieged by Egypt in the Isle of Crede. I had about 300 or so, they had about 1000-1500 and were attacking from both sides of the city (there were two armies). And incredibly, I won. Toward the end of the battle, I was just repeating "forget it, it is impossible." But my Byzantines Spearmen did not let me down. I felt like I was playing 300.
