Change turn counter to yrs question

If I change the counter to show years instead of turn number will this mess up when events are triggered?

I believe it will cause the events to fire wrong. You do know that the date is infact shown now on the right side? (just makeing sure to save you some modding!)

events ill show without any error, this show both , but if you want just just years and not turns in your descr_strat do this

No because events are fired by x number of years after the starting date. Think of it this way...you are only changing the display: the game still knows what year it is
