    Icon5 Diplomacy WTFU?

Oh, it's just me complainin', or is it an issue?

Well, playin' SS 5.1 Early Era Grand Campaign as the Kievan Rus' I got some weird stuff going on... Nearly from the beginning of the game, as I conquered my first few regions, I got a "Balanced" diplomacy offer, when I offered some bigger and more powerful nations an Alliance + Trade Rights with them paying me tribute. After about 30 turns into a game, I convinced Byzantium to give me a region for the Alliance, and a few turns after, the Turks gave me two regions for it...

What's even worse is that after I proposed Egypt (at enemies with Byzantium and Turks) an Alliance for 10 grand florins, they signed peace treaties with their enemies (which were my allies at the time), only to be attacked by them on the next turn, which in fact broke my alliance with the Fatimids... And guess what? Yes, the next turn I got another 10'000 for an Alliance...

While in vanilla AI seemed to decline most offers, here it accepts them too foolish. I think the diplomacy should be toned down... Or anyone has any explanations?

I have noticed the exact same thing, I have a few guesses but I would also like some clarification if this is normal or not.... I have noticed if they give me a ton of $$$ for an alliance and "I" break it they end up sending the kitchen sink at me and my game is over lol

Well I have a very reliable international rep, but I seem to constantly have trouble brokering Diplomatic deals even when it appears very generous on my part! LOL!

    Playing as aragon

In my game I got 6000 for an alliance with france, the next turn the attack my allies the Milanese, I side with Milan (normally I kill them off asap), and in the next turn I again sign an alliance with france for 6000. France is then at peace with Milan again, I did this one more turn then figured it was a bug and stopped. So I sided with france and took Genoa

The reputation of my Holy Roman Empire is Immaculate. So far, I've only ever taken two non-rebel cities, at about turn 100 of the Early Era campaign. The Milanese attacked my French allies outside the gates of Bologna, so I sallied to TRY and help them, and naturally the Italian militias curbstomped the French and German militias, despite being outnumbered 2:1, with peasant archers firing flaming arrows into their right flank. To be fair, though, my militias were already winded from sprinting to the aid of the French. The next turn, I sent a diplomat to Milan to request a ceasefire, offering chests of gold in tribute, favourable trade agreements, my finest cartography... Six years of that, and I finally gave them the ultimatum that they woud accept my ceasefire and 1,000 florins in tribute for 10 turns, or I was going to attack. They declined, and two turns later the Emperor was titled Signore di Milan. They took the gold, and the ceasefire, and two years later I gave them their city back.
Just now, I took Cairo on Crusade, and the next turn negotiated a Ceasefire with the Seljuks, who had formerly owned it. Then, I gave the city to the Papal States. Oddly, Rome rebelled and kicked the Pope out around turn 50, and then Sicily took it from the Rebels. The Pope has been homeless since. So now, he's officially relocated to the middle of a land war in northeastern Africa.
I control... 18 territories, I think? I haven't bought any, though I traded Rheims back to France for Bern, and Dijon for Antwerp.
Also, after joining a Crusade on Moorish-held Toledo, (and I should probably post this as a glitch), the Crusade was cancelled two turns later because some Leon-Castillites just walked into the completely undefended settlement. I'd have labelled that "successful," not "cancelled," but many just can't stomach a bloodless Crusade. The Moors traded me Marrakesh for a ceasefire, and I in turn gave that to the Crown of Aragon... It slowed the Moorish advance, but the Spaniards have been pushed back into former French territory. Soon, I'll need to send my Crusade stack over occupy a castle, and begin taking back the Iberian peninsula to give to the Spanish factions.
