Hey, are there any factions that every time you play you just have to save or destroy. I always try to help Russia, even though when the Mongols come they will be killed.

I will try and save the Byzantines from being destroyed from the turks and i'll ways destroy France and scotland as soon as i can when playing as England.

Helping Spain to drive the Moors back to the ocean if I'm a catholic faction. If I'm Egypt, Turks or the Moors, I try my darnest to keep the other two as my allies and defend the "holy lands" from crusaders and horrible, horrible timurids and Mongols.

I'm just not feeling the "catholic christian unity" if I start in the middle of europe because every 5 turns someone's trying to attack me =/.

Ι enjoy destroying the turk-mongols and exterminate every region of their own just for fun,i also like to help Scotland againist the english and Portugal only if they are in war with spain ,and the Danish almost every game because i really like them

well, i usually try to not attack egypt and turkey, otherwise known as my mongol/timurid buffer/fodder
and i try to help th papacy become a raging steamroller but to no avail

I'm playing SS and trying desperately to stop Lithunia from sucking in the grand campaign. I usually fail. I do my best to protect them militarily, but I cant help it if their only settlement rebels...

i like saving the world from the mongols.

even when i play as england i seem to end up going over and setting up forward bases at acre or cyprus... the turks on the face of it should have the units to save themselves... but no.

so i make it my job.

If i'm in the area I always try to help out the Byzantines. Unless of course I'm playing as the Turks

The French. I could be playing as the Turks and I'd sail all the way to Western Europe just to ruin thier day.

Unless I am actually playing this factions I go for

1. Milan: In almost every alliance I've had with them they betray me. I may be vindictive, but they must die.

2. The classic: beat on the French(despite the fact that I have quite a bit of French blood. English too, though, so it's okay.

3. The Byzantine Empire: wipe out those Romans once and for all! (even if they have gone Greek...)

4. The Papal States: It's hilarious to take Rome, then exile them (by gifting) to a far-flung frontier province. I did that once after the Pope declared a crusade. I decided if he wanted the Holy Land so bad, he can have it, so I took Jerusalem and Acre, took Rome, then gave him the first two for peace and reconcilation. The number of Jihads against those cities was outrageously hilarious. Just imagine: the Pope facing down a horde of extremely angry & fanatical Muslims by himself. (He had better pray. You want me to go on crusade? Do it yourself, you irritating old man.)

Haha! Hilarious. The only backdraw I can think of is if your pope is just elected, then killed by Muslims. Score one for Islam!

When playing as england i always like to try and help the portuguese out if they're in trouble. Not sure why.

Also I don't like destroying scotland so i'll try and vassal them even if it takes ages.

its the underdog thing, most people seem to go for it.

we all know what happened to the byzantine empire and moorish spain by the end of the games period. they are total underdogs. not only that, they were cultured underdogs who were famed for their high culture!

i also have a soft spot for the french. if they survive till the late era they can be tough, but i really hate the milanese or danes taking them down. i often do my best to eliminate milan especially. as has been mentioned by others... milan must die.

I always try to save or ally with polish. They hardly backstab and help to keep hungarians ans russians and mongols at bay. Screw Byzantines

I always try and kill Milan and Venice as quickly as possible with Denmark coming up behind. Those factions always backstab and can't resist the urge to attack just when you are least expecting it.

i've made it my policy to exterminate all backstabbing settlements of the enemy when i capture them
recently, a daughter of the crown of my faction ran away with the mark whom she was supposed to seduce.
