German Spearmen without Phalanx

I still don't understand why the Germans have a phalanx unit. Makes no sense to me. Can't think of any historical reference for this. I'd like to mod the German spearmen to maybe keep the long spears but not form phalanxes. They would be more like Triarii or Libyan Spearmen - long spears, no phalanx. I'll look for a tutorial on this but can someone help me out anyhow?? Thanks a million!

Ok so I figured some stuff out and basically just changed the German Spear Warband to the same warbands as the gauls and britons have. So far so good... would have liked them to be more like triarii or libyan spearmen but oh well. They work fine so far, even gave them the warcry ability.

Ok I think I might have figured it out now... I'll update in case anyone else wants to know.

Sorry if im posting in an old thread, but maybe someone else with the issue will be looking around for a solution and they find this. So:

Have a look in the export_descr_unit file. Press Ctrl+F and search for "phalanx" without the quotations. Keep on pressing "next" until you get to the german spearmen unit. Remove the line "phalanx" from their abiltiy list. Do this for any unit you wish.
