Where are the Citadels?

ive been playing a great campaign as the Teutonic Order, and im into the 14th century, but i have yet to have the opportunity to upgrade one of my fortresses into a citadel. its pissing me off because im not able to recruity my most powerful troops. does anyone know how to fix this?

Are you sure you have the minimum amount of population needed to upgrade to a citadel?

thats what i figured the problem was, but ive exceeded 10000 at my most populated fortresses, and have built the highest level of farms allowed. what is the requirement?

It's all about the Chivalry. Since you can't crank down the taxes, you need to entice population another way. Pretty much the only way is with a high chivalry governor.

Call a crusade, win it, and send the victor on a citadel-building campaign.

cool. high chivalry governors was something i was lacking , ill have to try it. i was almost about to go in and change descr_settlement_mechanics lol

I believe the population requirement for a Citadel is 15,000. I like to use my most chivalrous generals to give a nice boost to population growth, so you might try that and see if it helps.

if u hover ur mouse curser over the population of one of your cities/castles then it will tell you what pop u need to upgrade it.

i think it works with high dread as well
