Recomendations !!!!!

Ok heres my situation, for ages i have had this really crappy comp that is terrible for playing Medi 2 but im quite a fan so ive put up with it . However ive saved up for a shiny new comp thats more then capable of playing with that graphics/performance that i so badlly want :hmmm:. So i thought to my self that when i get this comp and install the operating system, medi 2, patches, SS, etc i wanna play as a faction that am gonna really enjoy without having to worry about having to attack large cities earlly on or avoiding the HRE area of the map because of lag (yeh you heard). So im looking for a faction with a good unit mix and preferablly one with good archers. My main ideas are: England - Cool longbowman and love there heavy inf, HRE - Very good unit mix and challenging starting position, Turks - Also good archers and unit mix,challenging starting possition as well as having other religions close by to make more fun (crusaders, byzantines). So anyone got any recomendations am really asking this cause havnt had much of a chance to go into the game in great depth especially new version of SS (5.1)

how can you tell archers range?, have tryed moors before and i just didnt like them and i got beaten up by venice (dam egypt +millan)

Venice!

There are just so many ways to play Venice. You can expand north against the HRE, you can expand west into France. You can expand east into the Byzantine empire. You can expand south into either the Moorish lands or Egypt. And each of these is a very different game due.

Their militias are strong, their starting position provides plenty of cash, they have a good mix of units, they get to deal with the Pope. Lots of fun here.

Try the Moors decent archers and good crossbows early on plus a good amount of light spears and infantry and at the top end camel muskets and Christian Knights plus you are surrounded by christians in spain.

i would suggest the byzantines, lots of big fights with turks and crusaders! they are also a very challenging faction to play as you have no natural allies (based on religion). out of the ones you mentioned i would go with Turks. for similar reasons to byzantines. england i find to be too easy, and i have played HRE too much, although i dont suppose that makes a difference for you.

lol wouldnt think so, i was thinking of the byzantines but i played my last game as them so there still fresh in my mind and not really an option

it depends what your into, If you wanna be Rich but wanna Crusade alot but have relative peace at home then Kingdom of England and Sicily are good choices, if you want total war Byzantines and HRE are good choices as the face a good number of possible foes, if you want a combo of both money and abit of total war Venice and Milan are good choices.

In a strictly, "I want archers and heavy infantry." sense, pick England.

HRE would be my choice.. they got as you said a good all-round units. and they got the gothic knights!!

i do really like the HRE units but they dont really have any really good archers with flaming arrow capabilitys like the turks and england which i do use alot

The Moors would be good if you want total war and a lot of cash. When you have Timbuktu your economy will be good.

Everytime I play the moors I get crusades against me and half of the catholic factions declare war on me, and sometimes Egypt as well.

They have good archers, and crossbowmen as well. They also get camel gunners.

As for infantry, they have strong militia, christian guard and many spearmen.

Turks. They have those archers you love plus excess mounted ones.
