    Default WHAT BUTTONS do you press to organize your personal formations?

    Before a battle begins, I want my units in a particular formation.

    Example:

    h= hastati
    t=triarii
    a=archers

    I want the formation

    TTHH-TT-HA

    Furthermore, I want TTHH in Control Group 1, HTT in Control Group 2, and HA in Control Group 3.

    but the stock 8 preprogrammed formations don't offer this setup.

    So what keys do I press to make this happen?

    Example 2:

    I want:
    --T
    THAHT
    --TTT

    What buttons would I press to go about making that formation happen, and assigned around or between 1 to 4 control groups?

    Whenever I try manually placing such formations in various control groups (ex: I rightclick T ahead of THAHT and put THAHT in Control Group 1, and rightclick TTT in the back in Control Group 2), they (in this case, THAHT) always revert back to whatever the AI feels is the basic formation setup (ex: TAHHT) once they are ordered to move. Its very irritating and is obviously hindering my battle ability...

    If you want formations like that, then you will always have to set it up yourself. Now i'm unsure if there is an easier way of making them move altogether in formation but this is how I do it.

    Setup formations
    Then put everyone in one group
    Move
    once at the location then i take them out of the group. Although I don't see why everyone doesn't stay in formation when you select multiple groups and move at once...That is what you are doing, isn't it? If not then try selecting all your groups and moving together.

    If you group the units they i think will just go to the formation first on the list(thats what happens to me) it easier just to drag a box around them(after you have placed them) and move them altogether without grouping them.

    Yes, if you want your troops in a specific formation, then you have to re-arrange them yourself during the Deployment phase (which takes only a few minutes). Don't use the pre-programmed Group Formations if you want your own formation.

    It would be nice if they allowed you to create your own formations and save them. Would save some time on the battlefield.

    Would also help if the formations besides single line were actually useful.
