First I would like to congratulate the oxford students. The same people I would like to add would protest about ID cards, terror laws and any infringement on there freedom. Yet the same people cannot allow others the same rights, hypocritical or what! Now I don’t agree with Nick or David, but that doesn’t matter. They have the right to say it.

Now sure, they had the right to say they shouldn’t come and they had the right to protest yes. But to try to stop them from talking by entering the building and blocking the entrance is for lack of a better word a disgrace, the police should have been there. I feel out of principle they should be allowed to do it again and the police should be present to allow it to go on. People need to learn that freedom of speech applies to everyone and not just those who flow with the mainstream.

Like I said, I don’t agree with there message but that’s not the point, if Nick and David want to be racist bigots that is there choice.

People shouldn't shut other people down when they are trying to speak but remember who were talking about here. David Irving denied that Adolf Hitler took part in the Holocaust, so lets not get all sappy for him now alright ?

Holocaust denial is a criminal offence under the laws of both Germany and Austria. Irving was convicted in Austria.

These idiots at the demonstration have only succeeded in gaining publicity for both Dr Irving and Mr Griffin. Now Dr Irving has been convicted of false statements (ie holocaust denial) so maybe the union should not have invited him whereas Mr Griffin has not been convicted of any offences in spite of the best efforts of the BBC in West Yorkshire.
I despise the views of Mr Griffin and the BNP, especially as they have a prominent presence where I live, (they put up 22 candidates out of 23 wards in the local elections in May 07) but I get sick to death of the Anti-fascist and Anti-Nazi league shouting down any one who disagrees with them. At least the BNP allows the average voter to reject them at the ballot box, which incidentally I always do.
As UK citizens they both have the right to be heard provided that they do not incite.
