Religion and Politics in general are two different things if you ask me; The problem lies in the fact that the religion "promoters",be they the church as a whole or spiritual leaders,have a LOT of faithful followers. That means that,taking as a fact that the politicians want the support of anyone the can get to be elected etc,they promote the combination of religion and politics in favor of votes. What a religion should stand for is a set of moral values and not of having a say to every aspect of ordinary life(including the running of a country) while what the politicians should stand for is the running of the country and not the "hunting" of votes.
Having these in mind,I am as against as I be on considering religion and government the one and the same...

Religion and state should be completely seperate. Lobbying groups with religious intentions have no right to receive government money. Also, religion mixed with politics is causing a lot of harm to a lot of people, most notably those with brain damage and paralysis.
