Shameless plug: I've noticed that the changes in the ExRM (here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86638) nerf the Seleucids effectively. Adding the Galatians, in particular, hurts them a lot, but we've also changed phalanx recruitment and made some cavalry changes.

Actual advice: I highly recommend avoiding sharing a border with the Egyptians _and_ Seleucids as long as possible, or to quickly eradicate any Egyptian settlements that you do find. They will attack you if you border them, but they'll chill out otherwise. By the time you border their Levantine holdings, you should be sovereign of Asia Minor and be able to afford enough troops to pwn them.

Would it be possible to pack some text-minifiles wrt the Galatian faction that we can just copy and paste into our existing files, plus a list of Seleucia-relevant changes that we can edit in? I'm currently playing MNM, and there are a load of features from other submods that I'd like, but they're not directly compatible, unfortunately. I've already done something like this by replacing the multi-HP units of MNM with the single HP ones from PE 1.9.

Can't remember if it's the case in PE, but in MNM the land trade of Asia Minor is insane, putting even Greece in the shade.

Sadly, no, I don't think so. Adding a faction is a pain in the neck, although just using the existing brutii slot and banners makes it easier. You'd have to redo all the cities in descr_strat and add in all the units.

Does it use new modesls and skeletons, or is it just a rejig of the text files? If the latter, can you point me towards which files need to be changed to add the Galatian faction? I can start by adding the units and associated descriptions, letting the Romans have use of them, and once all that works, switching them to the Galatian faction.

There may be a few new models/skeletons, but I think it's mostly a rejig of the text files for Galatia. They have mostly Gallic units, plus Galatian swordsmen. Oh, and Galatian legionnaires. You might be able to get away with just adding the Galatian textures that Candel used and then adding the relevant units. Check the EDU and DMB and you'll see what I mean.

Pilgrim: basically, we're talking about how to add in a faction easily and without too much fuss. All units have models and skins in different files, and getting those all added properly is the key to adding new units.
