This was one of the battles i enjoyed most!! And ended in a heroic victory on my part too.
At first i thought i was going to lose when i saw the saracens had lots and i mean lots of dismounted ghulams with a silver chevron and more. Although the enemy outnumbered me, i still got a heroic victory. Partly due to because this was a bridge battle. I peppered them with arrows and rocks as they crossed. Then by the time the first stack crossed, their infantry engaged mine, didn't take long before i move my cav and infantry from the left and right flanks and routed the entire first stack. That wasn't a challenge. Then the difficult part came, the dismounted ghulams and lots of royal mamluks marched towards my position while my cavalry was happily catching routing units from the first stack. Next, i immediately reformed my already disorganised troops and prepared for the next push. Their mamluks proved a challenge, slayed quite some number of my dismounted knights. Then i repeated the same tactic: flanking. However this time, there were 2 stacks attacking my front and so my flanking didn't do much. still, after some time, those stubborn guys (about 1000 odd remaining) broke and ran back the bridge. I then ordered my cav to chase them down. And that was the end of the battle. Haha hadn't enjoyed such a great battle for a long time!!
