I know that for Albion the hero is Arthur and for the Satanae its Lucifer, but who is the heroes for the other factions?
Anyone know? One of the modders maybe?

That was it I'm afraid.
The others don't have any particular special general.

Yeh, there was a temptation to put in Joan of arc and El~Cid, but their historic characters so didn't fit the time frame. JOA would have been a man as well, I don't think there's a way of making sure she got a specific portrait, other than moving the whole mod to Alexander.
Well, historic context doesn't seem that important to me, I mean isn't this the mod where the French have soldiers who walk around in full plate armour? xD

Sure xP
Then why are there crusaders if the first crusade was launched in 1095?
Hey, I'm not dissing the mod, I'm just saying why shouldn't it have Charlemagne and El Cid? Or Fredrick Barbarossa and Saladin? It makes as much sense as King Arthur coming of age on Crete xD
I know, my reply was mainly joking, more honest (but boring) answer is that as mod isn't scripted or on Alex then getting special characters to work convincingly is a bit of a pain..... (I'm relatively sure King Arthur wasn't meant to come of age on Crete for instance )
Some extension of off the wall ideas may be possible in future, but at the moment we're trying to sort Lycan Rising out - which is definitely full of non-historical stuff, with no excuses needed!

I know you were joking Mak xP
Also, ccllnply, I think you already used that joke earlier today.
About being awesome xD
In the traits thread for EoD II you mentioned you should be a trait.
For the French what about Roland?

BTW, I am playing the French now (but have taken a 2-day break) and i don't think I have seen Roland or any Heroes or Heros.
Are they in the game?? Oh, wait a minute, King Arthur was for Albion but he was the leader, so, was he also a Hero??
Chris
We didn't do anything for the other factions, Arthur is in, sort of a messiah of virtue and goodness and Lucifer as his nemesis. (love the word Nemesis)
Oh. Thanx for the info. Frederick would have been great for Germany, and Joan of Arc for the French and El Cid for the Spanish and that warrior Pope fellow for the Papal States and Saladin or Nu-al-Din for the Islamic nation.
Chris
Well the problem with Joan of Arc is that in BI you can't assign a specific character picture to a specific character. In other words, all the French Generals would have either had to be women or Joan of Arc would have looked like a man.
Anyway, as Halie said earlier, Joan of Arc and El Cid didn't fit the timeline (neither would have Frederick, Sladin or Nu-al-Din for that matter.) That's why I suggested Roland because he more fits the timeline of the mod.

King Arthur doesn't fit the timeline either, and he is a hero leader in the game.
The game is not historical at all.
Chris
It certainly is true that this game isn't historical, but most historians place Arthur (if he really existed, which they think he did) in the 6th or 7th centuries A.D. That's around when the game took place (although a little early).
So Arthur in the game is slightly historical, but the rest of his faction isn't (the Templars didn't form until 1119 A.D.)
But I didn't make the mod, so maybe Halie or Mak will better be able to explain why certain people were included and why certain people weren't.

Yeah, mod starts in 666AD. I think HS just put in Arthur because he was British and HS is British. I think so. Albion is HS's kingdom for the good guys, although HS is a Satanae character in the game.
Heros are OK. Gives more flavor.
