    Default experiences with useless businesses

anyone else had bad experiences with companies who are either incompetent or bloody stupid, i'm sure i'm not alone.

my tale is of the National Westminister Bank (Natwest PLC)

when i applied for my student loan i tried to get an overdraft but the people were more interested in selling me a credit card i didn't want, yeah, how about you give me matches instead and i will just burn the money you idiots i am a student i do not want a credit card!!!

2 weeks later i get a letter telling me that i incorectly filled in my application (i didn't fill it in they did) and that i would be unable to get a credit card unless i went back to the branch so they could do it for me...

anyway today i tried to take out some cash and it wouldn't let me so i phoned them up.

"erm, i have a £1200 overdraft why cant i take out any money?"
"first i'll need to waste 5 pounds of your credit taking obscure personal details"
    ... 10 minutes later...
"...the left one is slightly bigger and hangs lower than the right one"
"ok sir i'll just check for you...oooh, we don't have any record of you even applying for an overdraft. is there anything else i can help you with?"

****, i have no money. so i walk all the way to the branch in the middle of cardiff

"i need to apply for an overdraft"
"ok sir do you have your card?"
    "yes"
"how much would you like to apply for?"
    "erm...£500"
"ok sir that will come in to affect on tuesday, are you short for cash now because i can authorise you to have some now?"
"that would be really helpfull could i have £50?"
"of course sir, here you are"

apparantly my university isn't just in a different city but a whole new banking universe

I work for one of them and delight making the experience worse for customers because I hate it so much. (To clarify, I don't work for one of those banks).

Today I made a ballista out of rubber bands, pens, and paperclips. Another long day of work well spent, I think.

yeah mine was supposed to be £1250 but considering i managed to blow my actual loan payment this quickly i decided i needed an incentive to not blow any more. i reckon £500 will get me till my january payment
