    Alright here is one.

The Teutonic order had captured the capital of Lithuania, a glorious day it was. The battle had cost the life of many brave soldiers, but the survivors celibrated, and destroyed the pagan shrines.

But soon, a Lithuanian army was spotted by scouts, marching towards their old capital to reclaim it. It was an army twice as big as the garrison. The general had send a scout to Konigsberg to plea for reinforcements while he prepared for battle.

His soldiers reinforced the breaches in the stone walls as best as they could with so little time, and as the knights watched and listened to the men, they realised that they would fight to the death with their knightly masters, but still they wished to live, to see their families again. They where outnumbered however, when the pagan army would storm the walls they would not stand a chance against the superiour numbers of the enemy.

The knights gathered at the castle halls and made a bold decision. They would ride out, to try to weaken the Lithuanian army as best as they could before it would reach the walls. They wanted to save the lives of the soldiers that already suffered enough loss when securing this castle.

Once their plan was made, they spoke to their general about it. He did not want to risk the lives of his brothers, he wished to fight beside them, but his advisors said he would be needed at the side of the soldiers if his brothers would fail in their noble task.

And so it happened, the grand army of Lithuania marched closer, and could be seen from the city walls. As the soldiers where gathered and rallied on the city walls and prepared for battle, the knights left the gates and assembled in front of the walls.

Slowly they where riding towards the enemy, forming lines of two. They would not look back, they where diciplined and trained to fight to the death if needed.

They where soon spotted by the army of pagans, they kept marching forward, feeling suspicious though when they saw the Ritterbruders dissappear into the forests next to the path.

As they marched further, they suddenly got surprised from attacks from several sides, the brave knights charged at the many pagan warriors, hacking down all in their path. They substained some casualties, but withdrew and regrouped, then launched more charges. It did not stop the army from moving closer to the castle however, the army was too large to fight all of them at the same time.

When there where but a few left, they still kept fighting, but not even the archer support from the soldiers on the walls could not take out all the spears, swords and axes pointed at them. They took out half of the pagan forces, and as the remaining pagans marched to the walls with ladders, they substained many casualties from the archers. In the end, when they finally reached the walls, their advantage of numbers was taken from them, and they fought the teutonic soldiers man to man.

The soldiers where strenghtened by the brave sacrifice that the knights made to save their lives, they where eager to prove themselves worthy of the sacrifice and fought hard against the ferocious and fanatic pagans. They had their victory, and it was celibrated with wine and music the next day, first, they mourned the passing of the brave knights that sacrificed themselves so that the soldiers would live to see their families again. The night was dark as they mourned, but the next day was as bright as the near future, when a part of the soldiers went home, and reinforcements settled to garrison the castle.

As for the general, he knighted several soldiers for their bravery on the walls, one even became a member of his bodyguard.

well it might be best if you use something that happened in your campaign I gues.

Its what I did, I pretty much made a story around the tactic of using two units of ritterbruder to kill as many Lithuanians before they reached the castle since the troops on the walls werent enough to fight them off. It just looked rather noble that they sacrificed themselves. A few actually survived since they where healed, but I left that away in the story to add a bit to the drama.
