Default total war:fantasy/total war: middle earth

guys, in response to a previous post in another thread i've been thinking about a possible total war set in a fantasy type setting.sorry if thisd is the wron forum btw...
i know there's middle earth TW mod base on the rome engine, but what if CA could team up with the makers of LOTR and made an official total war: LOTR
i remember watching 2 towers and retun of the king and envisioning commanding such legions etc etc
    happy times
oh but yes, where were we? oh yeh, and in terms of balancing issues for units like dragons in a fantasy type total war game, perhaps we could make dragons a merc unit and only employable by a commander with a high enoguh influence and employable in a certain region for different types of dragons.
of course make them rare units like elephants in med2:TW.
and of course downplay the magic toa minimum. extreme minimum. (on that note i do feel as tho gunpowder changed and almost spoilt the medieval period, this being reflected in my gameplay)
    any thoughts ppl?
i know that if CA made a fantasy type game like this with dragons and the amazing gameplay and amazign vistas which they've mastered from rome and med, a bunch've mates and i would definately be among the first in line to reserve and buy a copy.

i think a ww2 fantasy total war would be better. the holy roman empire would be nazi germany. briton and parts of the middle east would be the british comonwealth. france and parts of north africa would be france. russia would be the soviet union etcetera etcetera

nice idea mansa, but ww2 as a genre's been done to death.
and besides, the battle maps would haft be massive to convey the mobility of mechanizefd warfare of the 1940s.
no, total war works best if there're footsoldiers doing hand to hand combat, like the medieval style and in rome.
i mean, how cool would it be witnessing a dragon razing a city to scorched eath, and having the archers take it down00^^
    imagien the cinematic editing!

The graphics would be crazy too!
Baird: "Hey! Stop shooting it, you're pissing it off!"

Cole: "You're telling me what not to shoot in here? Look at this ****!"
    _____________
Carmine: "Landown? I heard there's a ****load of grubs down there..."

    Marcus: "More like 10 ****loads"
    _____________
Dom: "Marcus, ya ever seen them feed on imulsion?"

Marcus: "Hmph, they can eat **** and die for all I care..."

oh lol i'm not talking about including mechanized warfare. it's a ww2 theme but it's still set in medieval combat. i thought up this idea while looking at a nazi parade in wich they had knights with swastikas. it would be crazy and exciting to see nazi flags moving around in the air. or soviet warriors with those funny caps.

true it'd be nice to see, altho i'm quite a realist even when it comes to history and even fantasy to a certain extent^_^. i like to know how thigns work and how they worked, whih is why i loved rome's level of historical detail whenever u right clicked on a unit.

perhaps if CA's developers would be up for the challenge they could create a whole new dynamic franchise as profitable as warcraft, except it'll be better i reckon cuz of the sheer scale. now that's true RTS
and in ref to realism it was nice CA takin note of posters who wanted more blood on the battlefield, so they put clouds of blood whenever the arrows hit. i was one of such bloodthirsty generals (truly ironic considering i'm actually studying to heal ppl)

You wouldnt be able to see Nazi flags moving about unless it was from a mod. Noone uses them in games due to sensitivity issues. Even in HoI and HoI II there are none
Hit them as hard as you can, as fast as you can, where its going to hurt them the most..... and preferably when theyre not looking!

How about a total war game based on the Rise of Legends lore?

Creative Assembly + Electronic Arts = EA games, Its in the assembly.

putting them both together is like Flamingos and Gnomes.

In my opinion I believe that the Creative Assembly are doing fine on their own. But if they were to team up with any one it would have to be Ubisoft. Who are the Best Game company out there.

LOTR has already been done for RTW. But something different perhaps would be ok, though they'd probably lose a large amount of the TW crowd (see "your nightmare total war game" thread).

yeh somethig different, that's why i suggested CA make a whole enw fantasy type franchise. the LOTR thing was just a suggestion.

Re C&C: i'm a massive fan of C&c as well as a TW fan. true i do miss the old days of westwood studios mainly cuz of the nostalgia....i found C&C 3 ok, coulda been bigger and better but at leat the're trying to keep the franchise alive...music sucked tho:brig back frank klepacki!

Only reason I like this game and Rome is because it's historical. I wouldn't even consider buying a fantasy type game

i'd be willing to buy it,
hell if i had the $$ and know how i'd sponsor CA to design such a game.
while i do enjoy historical acccuracy, i also enjoy the magnificent vistas of sunset plains in the battle map. can u imagine the sheer otherworldiness of the battle as u fight against trolls/orcs/elves etc etc
