wow because thats an important organisation that will really effect pakistan.
Go Commonwealth!
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.
- King Edward III, 1339
It's more as a gesture of international disapproval, but this is the first real action being taken against Musharaff
M'eh, a symbolic gesture at best. The UK knows as well as the US that Musharraf's suspension of the Constitution was a necessary measure.

I'm sure that hurt their feelings.
Do any of these people recognize what will happen to Pakistan with Musharraf gone?
its merely a suspension. i thought it was the wrong thing to do tbh because with the weakness of the commonwealth, Pakistan is likely just to say "ok...well.. ttyl" and not come back to the fold.
then again, what is the commonwealth really? and what good do pakistan do for it? They dont even provide good sports teams..
Fine but this is a terrible, bad reason to suspend it from Commonwealth, and it weakens Musharraf further. And the World does not want to see Musharraf step down from Pakistan, because then it will be Afghanistan all over. Large portions of the country are already overrun with crazed Muslim lunatics, and the Brits are stepping on his toes demanding him to be all prim and proper?
im shocked that im hearing this from an american lol.
fact is the people want to choose their leader; musharraf is a usurper and he could never have hoped to remain there forever. The real problem is the transfer of power by peaceful means: i dont think the muslim nutters of the tribal regions could take power realistically as long as the army remain under the control of the more sane groups of pakistani society.
Musharraf standing down doesnt neccessarily mean some islamic nutcase is going to take over from him....its not entirely all doom and gloom.
Uhh no, my hope is NOT transfer of power by peaceful means, because there's hardly anyone in that country that can stay the lunatic crazies better than Musharraf can. I'm only in favor of a democratic government when the people in it are reasonable, normal people. Not when over half of your country is overrun with Islamic lunatics, and any excuse at all is sought to institute sharia an close the lid.
