    Default Can't install Kingdoms on XPx64 ?

I tried to install Kingdoms on Windows XPx64 edition (64 bit) and the setup can't start . A message appears "the image is valid but is for a machine type other than the current machine " .And closes . I tried it on a 32 bit Windows and then it even doesn't start . Besides the "setup" icon is unusually painted in blue without the typical image of crown/shield . Ideas ?

Have you got M2TW installed on the 64 bit machine?

Did you unistall it or just delete it? Either way use a registry cleaner to clean out the garbage and then try it, again. You do need install M2TW before you can install Kingdoms.

Sounds like xp64 doesn't like 32bit installers. Have you tried Microsoft's web site to see if they have a fix or a workaround? If it's doing it to all of them, it's not M2TW's fault. It sounds more like a bad registry or a Microsoft problem. I'd try a good registry cleaner first. Google or Yahoo can give you a list of them.

Both M2TW and Kingdoms work fine on XP x64. As do F.E.A.R., FarCry, BF2, CoD, CoH, CoJ, even good old PES4.

It's got nothing to do with XP x64. It's got something to do with your system. I don't know what you did to your OS, but I never did anything special to install 32-bits apps; they are simply installed in C:\Program Files (x86) by default.

Since you said that almost all your games won't install, maybe you should download and install Windows Installer. If that doesn't help, I would consider a reinstall of Win XP.

Although some games require special x64 patches (like FarCry, where I had to install the AMD x64 patch to be able to run it on my Intel dual core XP x64 system), M2TW and Kingdoms will run fine on WinXP x64 without any updates or tweaks.

The most strange is that the setup of many games doesn't want to load to start at all ."Not enough memory to run this " (I have 1Gb ) or just they blink for a second a black screen and shut off with no message .And the setup has no icon ,appears as blue and white almost as unrecognised file .:hmmm:

Like I said before, you might wanna try to reinstall the Windows Installer.
