    Odd that there isn't a topic already, if there is...forgive me.

    Happy Thanksgiving all, but especially to those that celebrate it. Today I'm stupidly running a race at 8am in the freezing weather, but then I'll warm up in front of a fire.

    I really don't celebrate Thanksgiving... It's not really a Catholic Holiday.
    It's probably another holiday that my father will ruin anyway...

    Its not a religious holiday, its a secular holiday.

    It began as a sort of harvest celebration, but today its a holiday that emphasizes family gathering and being thankful for what you have. Also included is a large amount of charity for the unfortunate.

    to add on to what the man with no name said, it's when the natives helped the pilgrims survive the oncoming winter by showing them to how to grow various crops and the two groups celebrated by having a large feast together.


    I like thanksgiving (y'know, besides the food) because it shows that two groups, despite how different they are, can come together.

    I found this little gem in the wiki page
    the colonists withdrew to Jamestown and other more secure points so that they could regroup and so their buddies could respawn.

    I ate like a monster..... It's the first time in 3 years I ate a home made thanksgiving dinner because I was usually in Vegas at this time of year.
