What is a hotseat please?

I figure it is a game that is passed back between players but how do you fight battles needing two players input at the same time?

Don't tell me you have to auto resolve everyone of the battles?

Could some1 please give me a run down? I appreciate any input and I realise that people that just post and say give me a run down is annoying but I cannot find any relevant threads with decent explanations, maybe provide a link..

I smell an Intersite Democracy Game in the making. Didn't realise you could play this with other players instead of AIs.

hotseat allows

1. multiple players to play the same campaign as different factions
1.a. on the same PC
1.b. on multiple PCs (by copying the safe file)

2. one player to play several factions in one campaign on one PC

basically it is a multiplayer or multifaction game. you can fight all battles you want, except for human vs human battles. there only the attacker can play.

Thank you mate. The human vs human battles are the only downfall, is there any option in multiplayer or do you need to activate in in the preferences.cfg file.

I don't understand why CA would make it so technical to play a feature of the game if you have to alter files.

hi. just joined today so im the noob of the day i have just got M2TW and M2TWK and i can do hotseat on kingdoms but not on medieval 2 :S what do i have to do to play hot deat on the original? preferences and stuff ive heard of can someone take me through it?
