    Default Money with difficulty levels

Last game I played as the Danes and was constantly poor due to a hefty army upkeep and was on hard campaign difficulty.

This time I am playing as the Moors and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary except change the difficulty for campaign to medium. I realise that the Moors have more militia so upkeep is reduced but I seem to be rolling in money.

Does the campaign difficulty level alter the income generated from certain factors of the game. I know it changes diplomacy and stack compositions, but does it alter the money side of things?

Maybe it does? Beats me. I always play on very hard mode and the amount of cash generated from my settlements every turn hardly exceed 5k at max. Even my best cities are earning very little. Never tried easy though.

Thats explains it then, with people saying they are getting close to 15k, must have something to do with the campaign difficulty level.

Ive noticed that the difficulty level does make a difference but also so does location (and a few other things but seemingly to a lesser effect)

The moors starting regions have better cash potential than the danish ones, I find that even on hard difficulty that with the moors, byzantines, venice, egypt, spain or portugal I am rarely short of cash.

If I play with the danes, scots, polish, russians or hungarians cash seems a lot sparser. Their natural produce areas just arent as overflowing with milk and honey...
Hit them as hard as you can, as fast as you can, where its going to hurt them the most..... and preferably when theyre not looking!

I would of thought that the difficulty level would affect cashflow. Afterall for a war you need money money and more money. So to me it stands to reason.

However I suppose there is one real way of checking this out, Start a campaign on easy, do nothing just click end turn and note how much you earn.

Do the same again but this time on V.Hard and see what the difference is ?

Remember the starting amount for each level IS different. ie on easy you start with 10K on medium it drops to 8K (I think) etc.

The starting amount of cash does not differ with different difficulty levels.

My understanding is that difficulty level does not affect how much money you make. However, at harder campaign difficulties, that AI gets bonus cash every turn.

Yes, to my knowledge the campaign difficulty does not affect your own money, but AI Factions do get cash bonuses on harder AI settings.

The problem with the comparrision is that early on the Danes are very weak. They have good position but it takes alot longer than the Moors to get their economy going. The Moors have alot of space to expand on the African side and the Danes not so much.

    Okay guys I stand corrected

I have just done my comparison check starting as England in both easy and very hard levels.

Both started with 10K each, however there was a small difference between the amount of revenue raised. Approx 3% more income on the easy level.

I know the difference is small and only equates to and extra 300 in every 10K raised but a difference is definatley there. Unfortunatley I didn't look at the balance sheet to see where the difference was.

So the bonus given to the AI would give them the better advantage at the end of the day.

3% doesn's like an intended amount (especially between easy and very hard). Maybe an extra rebel army got spawned somewhere in one of your regions on very hard and caused a bit of devastation?
