    Icon9 Watchtowers

I justed started a new roman campaign for RTR Platinum and
i made my way down the boot into Sicily. the first thing i see is a carthage watchtower(which are really ugly by the way)
sitting in between messana and syracuse. I figured,
well one is okay i guess, but to my suprise
there are two more around agrigento.
These really annoy me because they make
the map wierd looking and, especially for sicily, cluster the whole island
Simply question: Is there a way to get rid of these in the game?
Could I fight a battle where one of the watchtowers is located and destroy it in the battle map, would that work???
Any suggestions would be wonderful because i can't stand these things.

you can't destroy them on the battlemap, or on the campaign map

I guess you'll have to edit them out ...

They can be very annoying when the AI has put them in a strategic location like a pass. Some passes are long enough to have both a watchtower and a fort others not.

As Delvecchio has posted - you're stuck with them....

I never like the eastern (and carthage) watchtower design as it really looks out of place on the strat map. This is the same in M2TW too.

What I did is just change them to look like roman watchtower.

p/s: sorry forgot what the exact file, probably soem descr_strat_map or something.

would it change them to look like the roman watchtower in my current campaign, if i changed in the files. Or would i have to start over or something.

and, are you sure you can't destroy it in the battle map, because I remember back in the Vanilla times I played a battle with a watchtower present(in the middle of the field). I had catapults and ballistas and I remember it taking damage, like a building would in a city

    Nope. It's save game compatible.

Did it still exist once you get back to strat map ? The thing is it cannot be destroy/disable on the strat map.

i think i found it, i just want to make sure before i delete it
    its called (Culture/Faction)(example-Eastern)_standalone_watchtower.item
if I delete this would it destroy them On the mattlemap
and prevent them from building them
    it's in the folder bi/data/items
