    Default Problem with Mods

Hi, I've been trying to download mods for Rome Total War and I recently downloaded this one and Europa Barbaroum. The thing is... I can get into the game, and get ready to choose a faction, but once I click the faction icon and get ready to see the map, my computer kicks me out of the game and closes it. Now, I don't know what's wrong!

Both say I require downloads from the Rome Total War forum. I have Barbarian Invasion (which means I have 1.3 right?) And I've downloaded 1.5 and 1.6. Could someone help me? I've even uninstalled various games to give me memory.

For both EB and ROP you require RTW version 1.5. Have you installed the 1.6 patch yet? If you have, this is what you need to do for ROP:

-Make a copy of the entire Rome: Total War 1.5/1.6 folder
-Give the copy a convenient name. In this case "ROP" would be a good one..
-Install ROP 2.1 to that new folder

If you do it this way, the game will generally work just fine. If not, just leave a message here.

After copying the folder and installing RoP to the new folder... Do I just click the icon for RTW on my desktop again or will that lead me to the old folder? Or does it not matter?

I just tried the desktop icon... Desktop crash again.

Edit: And now Barbarian Invasion isn't working...

What is the size of your RomeTW.exe file? It should be about 15.026 kB.

Quick question... Would not having enough virtual memory be affecting me? The message pops up for EB but not for RoP, I'm thinking maybe my computer's too lazy to give the pop up twice?

And it says the size is 14.6 mb...

Well.... Now it goes to the Opening page of RoP where it says "Rise of Persia" for a few moments before desktop crashing me and hitting me with a message.

    "Error: Filename doesn't exist:data/animations/SG01 idle 01.cas"

Well you have RTW 1.5 then. So something else went wrong. As I can't magically see what's wrong, my suggestion is this:

If you don't have any functional RTW/BI installations:
    -Uninstall RTW completely (including BI)
-Delete the folder it was installed to (except savegames if you have any)
-Delete the copies of RTW (with mods installed to them) that you can't use
    -Install RTW
    -Patch to version 1.2
    -Install BI
    -Patch to version 1.6
-Test both RTW and BI for functionality

If you do have a working RTW (and BI), proceed with these steps:
-Copy the entire Rome - Total War folder
    -Give it an appropriate name
-Install ROP 2.1 to the copy (installing to the original RTW/BI folder is NOT recommended!!)

Right.... EB is working, but RoP is not. I'm back where I was to begin with, I can get into the game, but when I choose a faction and start to play, I crash.
