    Default Distance to capital

Hey, is there anyway to remove this part of the game? by modding or whatever?

It goes to my nerve too...

Whenever I have big empire it sucks cause of distance .

I think they capped it in Medieval 2, along with squalor. It would be damn hard to hold on to new world settlements without the cap.

In Rome I can never seem to hold on to that Numidian settlement that's located along the southern edge of the map because of the distance to capital. I can occupy it with 20 Urban Cohorts (over 1600 or 3200 troops) against a population of 400 (minimum population) and somehow it can still revolt. I would find it very impressive for civilians to win against a 4:1 or 8:1 ratio in my favour.

When you occupyng city , urban cohorts are not good garrnsion . Peseants are better due to larger number.

And yes that settlement sucks .

Yea, that is a really bad factor. Distance to capital, I mean comon. That is not the worst one IMO. I think squalor is the worst of them all

Squalor is annyong too , it can be countered tho. But distance is amazingly annyong .

Controlling squalor is simply controlling population growth. In settlements with a large base farming level, don't build too much farm upgrades and don't build too much sanitation.

I dont build farms above 1st level in cities.

I know how to get rid of most of it. Go to your decr. buildings file and add a +5 law bonus to all your buildings. Just copy it from something that does have a law bonus. I think you can only get 80% law bonus but it kills corruption bigtime. Beware, it does allow for big empires to have huge amounts of money which they can use to easily gobble up smaller factions which does unbalance the game. Be sure to add the law bonus to all levels of that building also otherwise it won't work once you upgrade.

I can see distance effecting some citys but not all.
