    Default Performance

    Hi there,

SS 5.1 runs very slowly since I installed it. Not in the battles but in the campaign screen. I dont have this problems in other mods or in the main program. I have lags every time I move an army or a spy/merchant/priest...is this normal (core2duo~1.66 ghz, 1 gb ram, 7600go) or can I do something (except: buy more ram, new pc etc.)

looks like we are having the same problem....
everytime I move an agent, he's "stopping" while reaching his destination....and I am sure, that this is not because of my computer, other mods run smoothly..
Peace and prosperity to you noble sadiq

there is an interesting thread at the europa barbarum website entitled "making EB run faster" that u might find useful.
Concerning lags...I am growing increasingly worried about the lag times during the campaign phase as the computer factions resolve thier turns...several mods I find are unplayable (for me at least) because I sit here anywhere between 1-5 mins waiting for my next move. It gets worse as the game progresses. I dont have the physical time to play for 2 or more hours and only 20-40 player turns.
I am not putting these mods down by the way, just stating my reality.

These lags are SOLELY due to added script. I implore at least some future modders to try and get away from the trend of adding so much new script. It is replacing fun w/boredom. Although I think the extras, historical nuances, and frills are neat, this is a game and I want challenge and fun. I know that extra scripts add to this aspect also, but I think most modders are going overboard (jmho).

I highly recommend checking out unspoken knights CUSTOM CAMPAIGN mod. It offers several unique options, and on my computer the computer turn phase lasts 3-5 seconds!!!

Another thing I'd like to see is more development of different game maps...I'd like to see a good middle-earth campaign, or just new maps overall. Dont get me wrong, I love the old world stuff, but theres a lot of it as it stands. The computer does some new things when you mix it all up (once again see the CCM...watch the HRE or scots try to fend off the aztec hordes).

And please, please, please will somebody include a landbridge between england n europe once in a while.

    sorry to rant

Do you tried DLV? "Other" mods is not definition of "heavy" mod, and SS is continuously going that way.
I found DLV is the biggest contender to "i will ate all your resources" title, but SS 5.1 is close by.

Also i found that "stop before move" thing happen in every mod, that have "movement of XXX significantly increased"
