    Default Indecisive general?

Well, i'm playing SS and as the teutonic order. Soon, the pope called a crusade on a lithuanian fortress, vilnius. The french were the first to join and first to arrive. When the closed in on vilnius, the sieged it. However, after 1 turn, the broke off and went to siege a nearby lithuanian fort instead. Soon, the next turn, the break off the siege on the fort and headed for vilnius again. This happened repeatedly for the next 7 turns when the crusading danish arrived and siege the fort. leaving the french with no choice but to siege vilnius instead. Now my question is, what is going on around that french general's mind? Has he gone nuts from the long journey eh?

I've had this before when I was playing the 'Crown of Aragon'.

I've also experienced this in Vanilla. Its just an annoying bug that happens every now and then.

I think that there are a few bugs like this in the game unfortunately

I read once and had the same thing happen in my current English campaign where the Portugese invade Ireland. Their navy then sales across to Wales does nothing. Next turn the navy returns to Ireland picks up the their troops and sits there. Following turn the cycle begins again, unload troops, sail to wales.....etc

I believe that the AI assesses which settlement is more beneficial to attack taking into account the defenses they will encounter and the actual stats of the settlement they will acquire.

It may be that the two settlements were cutting close in potential and the general was indecisive. I wouldn't say its a bug.

but apparently the fortress has so much more potential compared to a fort.
