    Default Greek's Power

Playing the latest version of RTR and Imperator. Is it surprising for the Greeks to be steam-rolling everyone? They are almost rivaling the Selucids.

The Greeks wiped out Macedon in the first 10-20 years and have proceeded to claim a number of client kingdoms.

Not complaining, enjoying the challenge. Just curious as I've noticed a number of posts claiming Macedon is the dominate early faction.

Traditionally in the Imperator II games I've played, Macedon is your immediate, powerful neighbor. The Greeks usually are on the verge of collapse or have already been crushed by the time I arrive on the peninsula as the Romans.

I have had a campaign where the Greeks from some lucky series of events were beating the Macedonians, so it was refreshing to fight alot of Hoplites instead of Phalangites in that campaign. But it's rare for it to occur.

In my campaign Macedon expanded very fast. Soon it was at war with greeks, ilyrians, thracians and even germans. Greeks somehow survived at Byzantium and islands. Later all these four factions defeated Macedon and it's still on the map just becouse I helped them. Greeks are the 5th faction in my game and it looks like Macedon and greeks swithed sides: Macedon owns Peloponese(sp?) while greeks - macedonian homeland

yeah in my campaign the GREEKS defeated the MAKEDONIANS hand down and became a regional super power, with all of Greece in their contol and all of the Thracian land south of the danbe river. plus assorted islands. it was fun invading Greece instead of Makedonia. when i got there there was also markers ( at least 5) that said site of famous battle...Blah...Blah... Greeks over Makedonians. it was cool.
