Default HELP: Cant Battle: Please help

I just bought MTW II brand new at walmart 2 days ago. The first time i downloaded it, my computer just shut off on me in the middle of the 2nd cd. It then wouldnt download all the way. It would get to the very end with one block left then a message would appear and it would restart. I finally got it to download on my computer. Now the game loads fine and starts up to the main screen perfectly. However, the only thing i can do is campaign. If i start single player and play a historic battle, or anything involving battles, it wont let me. If i start campaign, it goes to the country i choose. THen when i take an army over to another country to attack, it wont let me battle.

Heres what happens to me when i want to battle. The screen has the loading bar at the bottom and the cursor turns into the spinning timeclock. It loads all the way, then it goes into a crazy stage. My screen will go into sleep mode. Sometimes it will say adjust to 1280x1024 at 60 Hz, and ill do that when i turn my computer back on. Otherwise it will say "sleep mode". Then it will turn back on and show that loading bar and cursor spinning. The bar then loads again and it does it again. I cant do the ctrl+alt+del or anything. Im forced to shut my computer down the hard way.

My computer is hp pavilion f1903 flat panal monitor on RADEON X300 series

    Any help PLease!!

Yeah it is only 128mb cvideo card so I dotn think the game will run even on lowest settings, also check your cpu and memory to make sure the game can run - it is no fun to play on smallest unit size lowest detail and waiting for turn to change for 5 minutes.
definitely Demigod is right that the video would be number one reason for game causing problems!

I'm sorry mate, there's no solution to your problem except upgrading your hardware. Next time, make sure you check the min. system specs on the box, so you know you will be able to play it.

And be advised, that in case your system specs just meet the min. specs or are just above it, the game's experience may not be worth the purchase.

OK guys, I think I just solved the Black Screen Error and crash on battles error.
I was going crazy with it and very frustrated with the game. Since I installed Kingdoms (and thus 1.3 Medieval) my medieval2.exe would crash to a black screen with an error beep and then, after any key was pressed, it would die to the desktop. Same happened on some battles on Kingdoms.

    HERE'S WHAT SOLVED MY PROBLEM:
Unpack all medieval data as instructed in the unpacker readme.
Delete both files as instructed in the readme.
Create .bat file to start medieval2.exe - also as instructed on readme
Great!!! now your medieval2.exe is working again.

    TO FIX KINGDOMS CAMPAIGNS:

Run the specific unpacker for each of the campaigns
Go to each of the campaigns folder
Find and delete both files refered in the unpacker readme

This solved all my crashing issues, but I noticed that the game became choppy on 6.0 speed - nothing that would get in the way.
Hope it solves your problems too.
