    'Cus his black.
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

I voted Gore but since he isnt running my second choice would be Hilary. She has been pretty good for my state and she has led a pretty good campaign.

As I just said on the Obama thread, Obama has no opinions he only insults Hilary. I dont even care that he fakes being black but the fact that he has no opinions is what pisses me off. Plus, his campaign really sucks. He screws up again and again. First, the black community comes out against him. Then, he says he wants to invade Pakistan. Now, he is being attacked for being a hypocrit because he faltered on the same question that Hilary couldnt answer.

Obama however i would laugh if Dennis Kucinich made it on the democrats and ron Paul won the republicans. Now that would be an election I would like to see at least you would be able to tell the parties apart.

He fakes being black? Are you ****ing kidding me? Then again, you think Giuliani is God's punishment to mankind and that Hillary Clinton should be the democratic nominee.

Surprised, I am not. Disappointed in the end, I hope you'll be.

Actually they are quite different. One is a pugnacious old geezer and the other is a hobbit. One sees UFOs, the other sees black helicopters.

I think Guiliani is G-d's punishment to man (or at least 9/11 victim's families) and like Clinton but I still HATE Obama. As I said at least Guiliani has opinions and ideas. Obama doesnt have any. His slogan should be:

"If you want Obama, you dont care about politics"

Honestly, what has the guy done thats so good (what has he done at all?)? Just because he insults Hilary doesnt mean he is qualified to be president.

    Lugar-Obama "The Dynamic Duo"
"The most dynamic duo in Washington today crosses party lines. Old-school realist Richard Lugar, the five-term Republican senator from Indiana, has embraced new-school realist and rising star Barack Obama, the junior Democratic senator from Illinois ... The two agree on much and seem to genuinely like each other. Rather unusual in hyper-partisan Washington, these days."

    -Washington Monthly September 2006

"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) understands how dangerous (a bird flu pandemic) would be and just how small the world has become...Obama is to be commended for recognizing that the U.S. and the world have to stay a step ahead of the avian flu."

-Chicago Tribune, Editorial, March 7, 2005

"It was a source of considerable encouragement to learn that the Congo Bill which (Senator Obama) graciously initiated and sponsored was recently passed and signed into law (S.2125). This is an important and most welcome development for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) at this critical juncture of its history."

    - William Lacy Swing, U.N. Special Representative in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

"Two senators from opposite sides of the aisle have joined together to call for increased U.S. involvement in Darfur. They are Sam Brownback, Republican of Kansas, and Barack Obama, Democrat of Illinois."

-Gwen Ifill, Newshour with Jim Lehrer, PBS, February 16, 2006

"The knowledge that we have secure funding for 2006 now allows me to concentrate my energies and efforts to bring Mr. Taylor to trial."

    - Desmond de Silva, Chief Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone

"Senator Obama showed that he has the best judgment and courage to be Commander in Chief. He outlined a comprehensive and detailed set of policies to turn the page in Iraq, to protect American interests, and to advance stability in Iraq and the region. He understands that the choices we are making in Iraq are bigger than the debate in Washington--they are about the future of our military and the future of our global leadership. Barack Obama is uniquely suited to restore our military and our leadership."

    Major General Scott Gration (USAF-Ret)
Former Commander, Operation Iraqi Freedom's Task Force West
Former Director, Strategy Policy and Assessments, United States European Command

"When our president defends a wrong strategy by a welter of ever-changing tactics, our leader should be determined by who can see and address what is fundamental... Senator Obama moved beyond tactics, asked the important questions, gave compelling answers and pointed to the path he'd take to bring us to the right destination. That's what I want in a president."

    Dr. Richard Danzig
    Secretary of the Navy (1998-2001)

"The next president must be a person who understands - even personalizes - the global quest for dignity and diversity; a person who has shown that even without extensive intelligence briefings he knew from the very beginning that a solitary war, resented by our friends while mobilizing our enemies, is a fool's enterprise. One political leader did just that, ahead of others. He was not, like many others, a Johnny-come-lately. That leader has had the courage and the resolve to face the painful realities of the war in Iraq and to address them with strategic wisdom. Unlike President Bush, who in dodging his responsibility prolongs the agony while increasing its human costs, that leader has shown also, by his life and by his close communion with mankind's quest for personal dignity, that he can make America again relevant to the cravings of humanity. And so, you good people of Iowa, you have a unique historical opportunity to take the lead in the election of our next president and thus to change the world."

    Zbigniew Brzezinski
National Security Advisor for President Carter

"Summer is an incredible opportunity to help children who are under-performing in school achieve grade-level proficiency, develop as young leaders, and enter school ready to excel in the fall. The support of Senators Obama and Mikulski demonstrates their commitment to children and education. The STEP UP Act is a tremendous opportunity to deepen and expand our impact on children's lives and help them achieve high academic standards."

    - Earl Martin Phalen, CEO of BELL (Building Educational Leaders for Life)

"Incredibly, security remains voluntary at (chemical) plants, despite strong warnings from the 9/11 commission that a strike at just one of the nation's major plants could release chemicals capable of killing one million people or more, according to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. He and Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., have introduced legislation that would require plant owners to beef up security. The question is why President Bush hasn't been pushing for tougher measures all along."

-The (Albany) Times Union, September 6, 2006

"There have been tritium leaks at other nuclear plants, though none so extensive as at Braidwood. The uproar over Braidwood prompted the Nuclear Energy Institute to outline a voluntary policy for monitoring tritium leaks and reporting such incidents. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has vowed to continue to push for federal legislation that requires reporting. "The nuclear industry already had a voluntary policy, and it hasn't worked," he said. Exelon's past actions have helped to prove his point."

-Chicago Tribune, Editorial, May 25, 2006

"We extend our deep gratitude to Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) for catapulting homeless veteran issues onto the Senate agenda by introducing this comprehensive measure."

-National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, Congressional Testimony, March 16, 2006

"After prodding from the Chicago Sun-Times, veterans and Illinois' two U.S. senators, the Veterans Affairs Department is sending out letters to Illinois vets to address the state's 20-year history of ranking at the bottom of the nation for disability benefits. . . . The massive VA outreach -- a total of 326,000 letters -- affects Illinois and five other states with low benefits: Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio."

    -Chicago Sun-Times, May 9, 2006

"Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Dick Durbin have been in the forefront, once this problem was exposed by the Sun-Times. . . . What better advocates could vets hope for than Durbin and Obama? Dick Durbin is the Democratic whip, an energetic senator who has done much for the state. Barack Obama is a rising star whose future is limitless. . . . It's about fairness to 1 million Illinois vets, fairness which they have earned and is long overdue."

    -Chicago Sun-Times, Editorial, May 30, 2005

"Thanks to some hungry G.I.'s and a U.S. senator, some wounded soldiers will no longer have to dig into their own pockets to pay for their meals at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C."

    -Mark Benjamin, Salon.com, May 13, 2005

"Particularly for those young men and women who have been severely wounded or disabled in the war on terrorism, it is only fitting, proper and fair that they should not have to pay for inpatient or outpatient meals at military facilities."

-Mike Duggan, Deputy Director for National Security, The American Legion

"We are very concerned about the injuries caused by improvised explosive devices, especially the Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). TBI is fast becoming a major problem for many veterans. We urge the Senate to adopt an amendment sponsored by Senator Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist to add TBI to the list of post-deployment physical and mental health screenings for soldiers returning home from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars."

-Bobby Muller, Director of Veterans for America

Taking on Party Leadership for "Most Significant Provision" of Ethics Reform

"The Senate adopted a measure that, for the first time, would require registered lobbyists to disclose not only the limited money they can donate to candidates personally but also the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars they raise from clients and friends and deliver as sheaves of checks -- a tradition known as bundling...the disclosure idea's lead sponsor, Senator Barack Obama... 'has not been the most popular person in our caucus in the last couple of weeks,' said a Democratic aide involved in deliberations over the bill."

-New York Times, January 20, 2007

"The final package is the strongest ethics legislation to emerge from Congress yet...Mr. Reid, along with Sens. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.), deserves credit for assembling and passing this package."

    -Washington Post, Editorial , January 20, 2007

    An "Unlikely Alliance" for Reform

"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), a fast-rising leader in the Democratic Party, and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), whom conservatives view as one of their most principled spokesmen, have forged an unlikely alliance in the debate on lobbying reform...An aide to Coburn said that his boss admires Obama's integrity. 'He has a lot of respect for him,' said John Hart, Coburn's communications director. 'He sees him as someone who has a good heart and principled and not mindlessly partisan.'"

    -The Hill, March 29, 2006

"It would enable the public to see where federal money goes and how it is spent. It's a brilliant idea...In 1802, Thomas Jefferson called for more transparency in government spending...Anything that allows a clearer look at the way our government doles out money -- including on defense -- is a bonus. Thomas Jefferson definitely would have voted "yes" for this."

-Chicago Sun Times Editorial, July 25, 2006

    A New Approach to Fatherhood

"U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) preached with grace and gratitude about fatherhood to a crowd of 4,000 at Christ Universal Temple, an important church in Chicago's African-American community. . . . Obama's tone Sunday was respectful, his words colorblind. . . . Pressed on why he risked this sermon, with its potential for backlash from African-Americans, Obama said he knew his audience understood that many fathers make enormous sacrifices. . . . His words did, though, apply to many more people than those seated before him in church: fathers of all races, senators and laborers alike."

-Chicago Tribune, Editorial, June 22, 2005

"(Obama's speech on faith) may be the most important pronouncement by a Democrat on faith and politics since John F. Kennedy's Houston speech in 1960 declaring his independence from the Vatican...Obama offers the first faith testimony I have heard from any politician that speaks honestly about the uncertainties of belief."
    -E.J. Dionne, Op-Ed., Washington Post, June 30, 2006
