Bridge to Terabithia

What do you guys think about this movie.
It surprised me, it is much better than I was expected, well a true masterpiece.
The history is very good, the characters are interesting and the environment it's absorbing.


PS: It's just me, or Annasophia Robb is very a very talented and skilled actress? And she is so young.

The actress sounds like my female version. (No, I haven't watched the movie yet)

I hate how they killed the girl.

I saw it with my little brothers. Wasn't too good.



But the little girl looks exactly like a young Keira Knightley

Yes, but it gave a greater meaning to what they had shared.

The movie is a good drama (in the same vein as "My Girl" but not as memorable in my opinion).

My problem with the movie were the advertisements for the movie which led me to believe I was going to be watching a Fantasy movie. But the Fantasy-aspect is a non-factor in the movie. But still, it's a good movie if you're into movies like "My Girl."

I think the South Park "Imagination-Land" trio of episodes were heavily parodying Bridge to Terabithia.

Well, in any case, the movie made me depressed for a really long time. I totally felt the protagonist's loss of a very good friend.

Because I don't really care about spoiler alerts and spoiled movies are just as enjoyable.

I dont know about that hell Im miffed The Mist's ending has been spoiled on the net but Terabithia is hardly a new movie and you gotta expect spoilers when clicking on movie threads

I thought it was a good movie though I wish I had known the girl was going to die before taking my daughter just so for the sake of knowing beforehand since never read the book.

"She's just sleeping". FYI, a lot of people die in Philip Pullman's Golden Compass in case you were going to see that with a little 'un as well.

Yeah Ive read the Pullman books which has more issues then simply people dying so prepared for that depending how accurate the movie is to the books. Telling your kid she is sleeping seems bit of a cop out though and I prefer to be honest though when you are sitting there yourself thinking "wtf she died!" it makes things a bit more difficult

The sooner the child understands the true horror of existence - that people die and that there is no coming back - the sooner she can come to terms with it and accept her fate.

I agree with a previous poster that the films commercials promoted it to be some sort of fantasy with lots of magical creatures, which of course it wasn't.
Apart from the false advertising it wasn't a bad movie, just not really suitable for younger kids.

That's the problem with the film, I was expecting one thing, but the film was totally different from the idea they promoted, but it was a good movie.
It's one of the best dramas I have ever seen.

When I first heard of this movie I thought it was a war movie. Sounds like 'Road to Hill 30', 'Road to Glory' (I found that one on imdb) or 'Bridge on the River Kwai'.
