    Default curious

I am asking you all, what pushes poeple to make ten times more mods for RTW than for MTWII, what is it they like more on that game that on the last which is much more realistic ?!

I can understand that the Romans or Greeks are more interesting to play, but.... thats all i find as an answer to myself to date

    cheers

RTW was much easier to mod I think. Another driving factor is RTW was out for ages, and in comparison MTW2 is fairly new. And as you said Romans or Greeks are a very interesting time period. Much more unique battle styles for different factions. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the main infatry for most of catholic Europe dismounted knights? The same, dismounted knights?

Another aspect I think is that RTW was much more mod friendly. I'm certainly no modder, but even I could give GC a cavalry unit using Armoured Hoplits as a model, or Gaul could have it's top units as a take of Roman Legionaires, using models from Spanish Mercs. Britain had Armenian generals as the armour looked kick-ass and put Barbarian armour to shame. It was all so easy, because every unit and every feature was individual. You almost never found groupings of units, except with Romans, and then they were essentially the same faction.

I can only agree with you
Concerning me, the huge thing that bothered me in RTW, it is the soldiers that are clones, all the same looking like
I used to mix from five to seven different units in one and same line so it looks various.
I dont need to do that in MTWII

So i guess we are all looking forward for the roman mod for MTW II

Well MTW2 has been out "only" for a year and I think we have quite a few advanced mods out there already, give it one more year and we will have way more than that. Making a complete modification takes loads of time but check out Lands to Conquer or Deus Lo Vult mods - they change the game experience entirely! Now if we could only get MTW2 total realism that would be soemthing I want ;-)

The Medieval period > the Roman one.. Unfortunately the Roman one gets more media hype ;p

I just want MTW1 with better graphics :[
To anyone who ever beat "Cloaked_Figure" At MTW:VI, I want a rematch!

Because we make Bigger and Better mods than we did in Rome total war.

We can add loads of new factions.. and that takes time. You have to make lots of new units and skins etc.
