Any chance of a Mercenary retrain guide?

I mean you take a force of Swiss Pikemen into Northern France, or Mercenary German Knights into the Spanish peninsular, where can you retrain them? I understand the regional thing, and it works great! But can we get a cheat sheet on what level of city/castle and where you can retrain mercenaries from different regions please? I am running my single digit uber unit mercs from city to castle trying to find a place where they can be retrained.

I'm not certain, but I think it has to be in a province where a unit of the same mercenary type is available for recruitment. So, you can use generals / family members to check what mercenaries are available for hire, and then run your own units over there for a touch-up.

Yep that's correct. It's just the same as normal units: you can only retrain them in settlements that can recruit them in the first place.

As for a mercenary retrain guide, open up the descr_mercenaries.txt in the SS\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder (or the data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Late_Era_Campaign depending on which campaign you're using

) and search for the units you're interested in. It'll tell you where they can be recruited from and hence, where they can be retrained.
