    Default Most lopsided battle?

Sad to say, I don't have any screens (I'm playing MTW2 on a Mac, using bootcamp, haven't bothered to download any screen shot saving program). But anyway, I was playing as the Spanish this evening, when the Pope decided to get all uppity and excommunicate me and then send a crusade my way (thanks, Pope).

He laid siege to my fortress at Toulouse, with 1,300 soldiers. I had 1,050 defenders, 180 of whom were peasants (yikes).

After some nifty wall defense with my armored swordsmen and using the peasants on their fanatics, the final toll:

Papal Forces: 1,100 (or so) dead
    Me: 79 dead

I've never had a battle where things were quite so lopsided. You?

And btw, I executed my prisoners. No mercy for the Pope

I have done quite a few heroic wins with being outnumbered at least 2:1 (in Rome TW and now in MTW II). The most memorable is from Rome Total War, where i had around 400 Greeks against a full stack of Rome legionnaires (i think it goes around 900 or 1000). The battle was at the canyon outside Marseilles on the corner.

I was thinking that i am done for good, and i decided to play the battle myself to slaughter as many as possible. Good strategy ( i placed my people as high as i could on the mountain) and my archers gave me a heroic victory, where the Romans lost all their army (0 people left), and i suffered under 10 losses.

Started at the top of a huge mountain, with 4 divisions of Genoese Xbox Militia, and they had to march for some minutes to even get on my level.

I was playing England using DLV.

The Scots seemed upset that I conquered Edinburgh, so they sent two armies and besieged the city.

My garrison mostly consisted of militiamen. A total of 1,800 or so.
While the Scots had Dismounted Mailed Knights and Templars, a lot of cavalry, and a handful of Highlanders. All together, the Scots had more than 2,200 men.

Before the battle started, I ordered my Welsh Longbowmen to plant stakes behind the gates, so I don't have to worry much about their cavalry (this move must have been the sole reason as to how I won this battle)

Their siege towers and ladders made it to my walls, where most of the battle took place. I ordered my men to leave the walls and ordered them to run for the city square. Their cavalry got massacred as they ran through the stakes planted at the entrance, so I wiped out half of their men including 2 of their generals (one captain, and a family member.) But they still managed to kill more than 3/4 of my men. (They were just levy, peasants, and militiamen.)

Here's a pic of the entrance and the piles of dead horses: (There's more of them than it looks.)

So the Scots army was in disarray now, most of their units are "Shaken." I actually believed that I would lose. But I had to take advantage of this opportunity. Outnumbered, I charged against them, taking on a unit one by one with a combo of 2 units of spearmen, and my general. At the end, the Scottish army was in full retreat.

    What remained of my army:

Victory came at a high price however:

2 stacks, they weren't amazing grade troops.. but they were ok and with 4000 men one would think they could do something...

Most defences wether siege or on mountains are easy to manipulate into a massive win. Sometimes it just feels wrong or like I am abusing the poor AI (probably am)

I find it confusing sometimes when the game says the balance of forces is heavily in the AI favour and its so clear they are going to be massacred for virtually no loss at all. Obviously the balance calculator doesnt take into accout troop types just a set figure for each unit and modifications for leaders, terrain etc
Hit them as hard as you can, as fast as you can, where its going to hurt them the most..... and preferably when theyre not looking!

The one I have below is not the most heroic one but the outcome is quite pleasing nevertheless

Yesterday, as the Templars in SS on huge unit scale. I was besieging Antioch, I had 1 unit of Sergeant spearmen, and 3 units of pilgrims (they have "1" for every single stat) and my general (about 26 men) against 4 units of 2 silver chevron spear militia and 2 units of desert archers. They sallied out, and I only won because of a lucky cavalry charge. I lost about 150 (of 626) and they lost about 800 (of 840.)

I had one, this was ages ago before the game got patched, I had two HRE armies and a french army besiegeing rheims, the alliance system works. Well due to the passive AI bug I won, Had only 700men defending against their 2000-3000

Don't macs come with a built in screenshot program? I hate Macs, but I had to use them for a unit on my degree last year and I'm sure I recall a screenshot program being a default application. But anyway, I digress.

My most lopsided victory would have to be a siege defence. Not hard to win, I know, but I still fairly pleased. I was Venice, and 1400 mongols arrived on a Jihad to take Iconium (sp?). They where around three times stronger than me at the time, but in the end they fled the field with 165 after failing to even enter the city.

Archers, cannon towers and burning oil for the win! It was great to see a cannon tower destroy a siege tower that was already attached to my wall and full of mongols.

Sadly I lost 22 of my men on the walls, damn horse archers.

Yes, I can use the Apple+Shift+4 combo to get the screenshot going, but that's in Mac OS. I haven't tried it on Windows (MTW doesn't run on Mac OS, so I'm using bootcamp to switch over to Windows to play the game). I'll give it a shot next time I play, but I'm not too optimistic.

It was online againsta friend that had recently bought the game and lost on Easy

    Anyway

I had around 250 Lancers and he had 2200 men. He ran through the entire map and then when the forces were right in front of each others he pressed the "W" button when he tried to order the map forward

He didint have the time to press the Halt button so I ran over his army with only 1 casultie of my one
