Great movie, I just loved it. Javier Bardem is a great villain-type with his psycho killer character.

    Who else has seen it?

I saw an advanced screening at a film festival on Tuesday. I thought it was brilliant, the cinematography captured a very stark and haunting Texas landscape. I've not seen a thriller with some exquisite timing in years, and the performances were perfect for virtually every role.

The Cohen Brothers really delivered with this one, and I wouldn't be surprised if both Bardem, and Tommy Lee-Jones are nominated for Supporting.

    Spoiler Below.

One of the best parts of this movie was the scene after Javier Bardem visits Llewellyn's wife and asks her to flip a coin. There is no portrayal of the violence that you know will take place, all they show is a static shot from the house opposite her's when he steps out onto the patio. He checks the bottom of his shoes for blood and keeps walking.

    Haunting and perfect.

    Great film.

I loved the cattle bolt thing, that just seals the deal on a killer, using the same thing that's used to kill livestock. Perfect.

Funny how that coin thing really is up to him, "don't put it in your pocket, cuz then it'll be just a coin like the others--which it is"

I am so anticipating this film. Its the highest reviewed film since The Godfather in 1972, literally. It must be something special.

    Gonna see it tomorrow.

Everyone should see it -- best film in decades from what I hear.

It doesn't end with the ending people probably want. Which I love, because realistically, this is something that would happen. Not happiness ever after or good prevailing over evil, but death as the only promise and the only inevitability.

Tommy's rant I think was misguided, he looked at the world he lived in and thought there must have been some turning point before everything became lawless, that it never used to be like this. Nostalgia, his father's old partner, the guy in the wheel chair told him a story of a lawman being gunned down on his front step.

Nothing's changed, it's always been like this, and it isn't pretty, or beautiful, but gritty and raw, where happy endings are relegated to the confines of a story, and never real life.

After weeks of telling myself I'd see it, I just watched the film.

I gave the movie an A+ until the ending, which like everyone else, lost me -- until I let it SINK IN -- and then I truly fell in love with the film.

The end rant was just to remind you that the entire plot was just a recollection of a case that once shook Tommy Lee Jones. That's all.

But yeah, I agree. The ending was ultra real, you know, not like the hollywood crap that dishes out all the details, this movie was an open sandbox; the Coen Brothers let us marvel at the suspense and thrill of the film and shocked us with their brutal plot twists and surprises and finally just told us the ride is over and that we'd have to figure somethings for our selves.

Just saw it last night, I'm still thinking about it nearly 24 hours later. I kept waiting for it to take the typical Hollywood turn for some reason, but it never did. Incredible movie.

I saw it about a week before it came out. It is easily one of the best movies this year. I hope Bardem or Jones (or hell, the movie) wins some awards because it was extremely entertaining.

I used to dislike Jones, but the last few performances were just incredible. He is now easily in the same league as todays greats, the Daniel Day Lewis' of the world.

Bardem was also memorizing. I also thought Josh Brolin, who played Llewelyn, was incredible. Even the Scottish actress who played his wife was solid.

The whole cast was pretty solid, but Bardem took the cake, I think that villain he's got is just as spell-binding as Hannibal Lecter was all those years ago.

Bingo! That's exactly how I felt!

I really liked his arrogant one-way personality. He wanted everything he had asked for, and did everything so only he would benefit. There was no cake-cutting or moral in the film and that's what crime is -- greed and violence without transition into the world of good deeds.

The movie had some crazy suspense scenes and I thought the lack of character development throughout the film really made way for the surprises that shook us.

One of the best aspects of the movie was that there was no music throughout to help or hinder the audience's experience. With no music to go along with the scenes, the whole movie had to be watched in a "raw" sort of way (know what I mean?).

Just saw it as well... like most everyone else, it seems, the ending got me as well, maybe because I stopped listing to what he was saying half way through.

I though it was something "fresh" to watch, but overall just OK. I mean, I guess the concept was good, but I felt like it was missing something the whole way through... not even considering the ending. What I mean is, it was quite long - which is not necessarily a bad thing, if that length is filled up properly. It sort of reminded me of some Tarantino scenes which are much longer than they need to if he just wanted to show the action, but they are so in order to "zoom in" on the violence, the gruesomeness, the pain, the suffering of the scene - so you don't just see someone get killed or hurt, but you feel it. In this movie, I though there was an attempt to create this sort of feeling as well, but it wasn't enough.

    Anyways, that's just my opinion.

Every scene was done to perfection, it displayed the desolation and the inevitability of things like mortality, changes in our lives and society as a whole, but it kinda comes back full circle in that nothing's really changed, people live and die, and the inevitability of death has manifested itself inside the mind of a psycho hitman, who believes he can do whatever he wants to people because life and destiny has led them to him, has led up to their encounter, but he graces them with a proposition that could very well save their life:

    "Call it."
