Where are the Savegames?Also,wheres my Config!

Well im Playing some Campaign,and i wanted to save the .sav because i will reinstall MTW since the Patch was corrupted (game runs normally,however Musketeers just keep reforming)
so i am on Vista and i cant find the .sav files.Where are my savegames saved?
can i just backup the .sav and play again?
BTW:
Where is the preferences.cfg in Vista? I found something like that,opened it in Notepad, but it only has 2 parameters :

Your save games should be located in the:

"C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\saves" folder.

Here, just download mine. Just remember to change the .txt into .cfg.

Thats the Point,there IS no Saves folder,but i can still load that campaign.

Or just vanilla M2TW?

Under Vista, your save games are located in a hidden folder somewhere in your profile. I don't know the exact path, as I'm still using XP, but it's like 10 times already asked, so do a search and you will find it. Prob. even in the sticky Vista post.
