    ******Important Patch Update********

    Installation - Patch 2.0 for Version 2.0 Beta - Kingdom of the Scots - 14Nov07

    This Patch will be released tonight 14Nov07 after final testing.
    This Patch will bring the Version of the Mod to Version 2.2.
    This Patch will come with an installer.

    **this patch may or may not work aesthetically as it overwrites the map.rwm mid game. It worked for me but it may not work for you. If your battle or campaign image is not right, you will need to start a new game**

    This thread is for bugs and other ctd's only. Please do not report Installation Problems in this thread. Please post those in the Installation Problems thread.

    While I understand ctd's are very annoying, they are certainly "a fact of life" when modding. The current version of the game is a Beta and as such the more people are playing and reporting, the more chance I'll be told of a bug when it arises. Please bear this in mind before criticising.

    Where you can you need to supply the following information:

    1. Your Faction
    2. The Turn and Year
    3. Was the ctd in battle or campaign
    4. Did the game restart when reloaded
    5. Post your saved game file!
    6. Post your error log!

    ****Very Important. You should always save any mod as you go. With ctds, you can most of the time work around them by changing what occurs prior to the ctd***

    I playtested this version with the Scots, although i wanted first waiting on the next release, but i was too curious. I must say this mod has a lot flavour and potencial to become a favourite one for me, thanks to you

    For my taste, you need still to balance the combat to have the battles and the unit properties more realistic, but it is though good playable what i experienced as yet, although i will eventually mod them to my liking, if i become a real fan of this mod with the next version update

    Any chance for this exam? Very low, because the established Anthropocentrism destroys the basis of existence.

    Hey Da Vinci....thanks for making a post! With over 2400 downloads (including old links no longer used) you were the first to leave feedback here in this post

    How do you see the battles being a bit more realistic? Which units would you have changes made to and what would you suggest.?

    All suggestions will be really helpful!

    How do you see the battles being a bit more realistic? Which units would you have changes made to and what would you suggest.?
    A decisive thing is to reduce the attack stats and increasing the def skill.

    Close combat will be more realistic, as it will need more time to kill a unit.
    Only elite units like knights should have an easier/quicker play to strike the enemy down. And imo., no peasant should be able to put down a knight, only in certain circumstances like if they are completely encircled as ie. in town streets.

    You could check out the SV combat stats for example, but take care, the knights and especially the general/bg's are real elite fighters, and not everybody likes that, if a knight charge is that deadly.

    Da Vinci....thanks for letting me know about this. It's good to get others feedback to improve the battle aspect of this. I will speak to Naimad about this.

    Swagger what suggestions do you have about the defnsive stats as well?

    well i think i will use this forum to make my suggestions:

    here they are:
    -delete no_costum in the general units (the heroes such as henry V, richard the lion..., saladin etc soo they will be playable in costum battles- Minor Change
    -add shiltrom to all militias..only spearman (sergeant spearman etc) have them
    -add shield wall to norwegian troops:-viking raiders, dism. huscarls, norse swordsman (maybe not this one)

    -PS:shield wall doesn't have a icon in the stratpage:
    --or you do it
    --or it will shows the grab siege equipment one

    -change diplomacy in the FACTION_STANDING
    --what i did is majorly trangressions:
    --when you sack a city (no matter what grade) your relations with all other factions will be reduced by 0.2
    --when you exterminate a settlement it will be reduced by 0.5
    --capture settlement changed to 0.005
    --when you cross a enemy region it will be reduced by 0.3


    I LOVE THE IDEA OF CHANGING HERETIC TO HIGHLAND (RELIGION)

    BECOUSE HERETIC ARE NOT IN USE..

    BE AWERE (bad spelled) you might have to give to te chuch :in descr-building
    that it converts X to highland

    @Swagger...you have some good points here.

    1. no_custom...good idea, I'll remove this from some of the units and change the names of the units for this mod. Owing to the fact that by adding 3 new factions I reached the 31 Faction limit I have had to reuse non used factions. Therefore, only factions playable in this mod will be playable in custom battles, as we are unsure how many factions we'll eventually add.

    2. schiltrom to militias...I understand the militias will fight better with schiltroms but these are supposed to be inexperienced levies only....maybe adding to spear militia only and call them spearmen not spear militia!

    3. shield wall - added to dismounted huscarls and vikings including mercs

    4. Faction standings - I will add all of these

    5. Thanks for the reminder about the church buildings, I had forgotten them

    I have changed the title of this thread to Feedback and Suggestions!

    hope your going to add ornamentum, also english redressed and the skins implemented in secilian vespers (think thier burreks)- i use these two, redressed for higher and burreks for shields and lower armored soldiers.

    Your mod has brought on a reinstall of Medieval 2 and Kingdoms, truly the work you are doing looks superb! However, as feedback goes, some negative will come, let me be the first ... As personal taste is always in the eye of the beholder, I have found a dislike for some of Burrek's work. Perhaps it is just me, yet it seems too colorful and rich to be used on all the units ... I prefer a plain, grunge look to the average soldier. Without being to specific and pointing out all units that I would, or would not like to be changed: it can best be summed up that Ornamentum's re-skins look like an excellent compromise. Even if some say they are too colorful... making me a hypocrite...

    Aside from this, I would have to put my vote in with the previous mentioned Attack and Defense statistical changes. Grueling long fights only adds to the immersion and feel of being in "Mount and Blade" warfare, at least for me. Besides, this is Total War! Not: Arcade War! But, if that is not the mod you wish to make..

    Cavalry charge :hmmm: I have wandered about this for a while, and it seems innocent to ask: Why make Cavalry charges weaker? Would it perhaps be possible to make them destroy peasants in a charge and hack the remainder down with sword or axe? Yet have a tougher time with, say, Spearmen
    Or... does it not matter what the Cavalry is charging, their Charge is, for lack of a better term, All or Nothing?

    Hi Powell...criticism, both negative and positive is always a positive for me. That means someone is taking the time to play and comment on our work, even if I don't agree then it's still good. I'll reply to your points in point form.

    1. Burreks textures...I can't skin so anyones work is better than mine. We will use some of Burreks and Ornamentums skins but not many....as like you I find some of them too colourful. While colour, pomp, and ceremony was a hallmark of medieval times, the average commoner and foot soldiers wer not immacutelt turned out.

    2. I really thought my present settings made battles last longer, but will be adding extra defense as suggested and provided by Da Vinci!

    3. Cavalry charges have always been a bone of contention since the day RTW first came out. I have limited the ability of General units to charge and mantain a melee to protect them.

    But with normal cavalry, they should be able to roll over everyone except pike and armoured knights etc.

    Thanks for the reminder about having to adjust this aspect of my game
