music...again
I've seen questions/answers posted about the music addon again and again and I've tried every suggestion I've seen. I've deleted to recycle bin both event.idx and dat files and renamed them. When i mess with either and then start the game, having installed the music addon in the rtw directory, I hear nothing once i get past the intro movie and the credits. No sound from music or voices or anything. Once i return the event files back to normal the game is back to the vanilla music after the intro credits.
Any further suggestions on what I can try? Cause I've been reduced to listening to this addon music on winamp just to know what I'm listening for.
Thanks.

Re: music...again
Maybe you haven`t installed the music add-on in the proper place? Check and see if the descr_sounds music from the add-on has overwritten the vanilla one. What version of RTRPE are you using?

Re: music...again
6.0 gold. I have the 1.2 patch the music addon is called 6.2. How do i check what you suggested? I saw that there were around 31 descr_sounds txt files in the data folder, there dates look older than when i tried to install the music but I'm not sure where I was supposed to install it if not where I did in the rome directory.

Re: music...again
There is only one descr_sounds_music file in Rome - Total War/data. The add-on`s file should have gone to the location said above and overwrite the original. The song files should have installed in
Rome - Total War/data/sounds/music.
About checking the text file to see if it is the RTR one. I think it should say so in its first part. Not 100% sure though. But it`s worth opening it with notepad and looking to see if it says anything about RTR inside. Just don`t edit it.
