Weird Bug: Sound Mutes & Settlement Names Gone

Whenever I'm in campaign mode and try to open console, or whenever I manage to get the console open and am typing something it in, the console closes briefly, all the M2 controls are shown, briefly, and the game then reloads from my last save. When it reloads, the sound is muted, the settlement names are gone, and names appear under all the characters/armies. I know how to fix the individual effects, but does anyone have any idea as to how to stop this from happening?
