Default My computer kicked the bucket

On Sunday my computer froze, and when I rebooted it, it no longer boots. I suspect its a motherboard issue. I don't know how long it will be out of commission but potentially awhile.

The good news is that I do most of my work on my work computer, the bad news is all my testing was done on my home computer. So I'm able to keep working, and doing things like creating installers and such, but testing of any of my creations will not be possible until my machine is fixed and/or replaced, so unfortunately that will all fall on the rest of you to tell me what it is that I've messed up.

This is getting spooky....(DVK runs to back up everything again). Sorry about that Squid. The 'freeze' sounds like a fried processor, however.

It might be, except I've had problems with the motherboard before. I'm taking my machine apart tonight after the little one is in bed to see what I can see (and to disconnect my my hard-drives so I can bring them into work tomorrow for testing).

My computer is 4 years old, long past the time when I could use warrantly to replace any of the parts, since I bought it in pieces and assembled it myself.

Excellent idea. I bought a Seagate 120 gb external hard-drive (I chose Seagate because of the excellent reviews) for a hundred bucks on newegg and it was some of the best money I've ever spent. And I've kicked it around, dropped it (dropped it under a train once - not on the rails, of course), and it works great. Best thing is it fits nicely into a coat jacket pocket. It has my RS stuff on it, all my writing, most of my lesson plans, and over 400 Morrowind mods on it.

Here's a similar version at newegg. They also have 160 gb for about a 130.00.
