Can' t start campaign

Hi,
i' ve a problem with playing the campaign! When i try i get a message "...select item...."! Deinstalling and new installing (a new RTW with patch 1.3 and 1.5, RS 1.10b with Hotfix) doesn't help. Now i have 3x an new installing and always the same problem!
When i will play the prologue i get a ctd.
Is it o.k.
- when in DOS-Windows "press any key... and then i should choose to overwrite some .tga-files?
- now folder in RTW-folder created?

Please help me i want to play RS!!

Seems like your install was right except for this:

When in the DOS window and you are asked to press any key, then press any key.
When asked to overwrite some files, press "a" for all.
You have to repeat this untill the DOS window closes automatically.
Other then that cant help you, hope it helps.

you cant play the prolouge or else you'll get a CTD. And if you havn't played the prolouge and the Imperial campaign button is grayed out all you'll have to do is change one of the lines in the preferences txt, I don't know which one but i'm sure someone does.

I had the problem you are describing once when I started the game with the BI.exe (I usually use the rometw.exe. It was possible to start it though when I selected provincial campaign in the single player menu.

Hi,
i' ve an RTW installation without BI patched to 1.5! Shortcut is also o.k.
I' ve try it in more than 8 installations but i can' t start ist! Should i try to play the prologue before i install RS so that it is registered? (that' s an info from german TW forum!)

You must have RTW_BI patched to v1.6 in order to play this with a BI install.

I dont know whats wrong man, that totally sux. You could ask over in the rtw technical help.

BI is 1.6. i dont think you can get BI with anything else.

No, when you first install BI its 1.5, you can then patch it to 1.6

Not quite, some versions of BI (not gold edition or later I believe) came as 1.3/1.4, so installing BI over an RTW install is the same as patching RTW to 1.3, BI starts at 1.4. Then patching BI to 1.6 also patches RTW to 1.5.
