    Icon5 Even more questions !

    New Questions.
    9. How can I prevent rebels to pop up in a province (not in a city) ? Build watchtowers ? Have hiiiiigh % population content ? BIG garrisons ? Spies ? A governer with some stat ?
I got the impression that in Spain, I now got alot less rebels then I had with Egypt, not sure why.

    Answered questions.
    1. Are there any conditions about the free upkeep ?
The city should be able to train the unit. Lets say you have a minor city. This means all militia units that can be trained at a level 4 barracks will have free upkeep even when that barracks isn't build yet.

    2. How do I know what unit can have what armor upgrade ? Some units have a "next armor upgrade :" but some don't have a line like that, does that mean they can never upgrade ?
The ones that don't have that, either can never upgrade, or you have upgraded them to the max already.

    3. When are there invasions from the east ? I got several "horde is coming" messages, but I don't see anything coming in this game and I got the entire middle east.
Sometimes the Mongols/Timurids spawn on the eastern edge of Russia, not the middle east. Their spawning has nothing to do with fow.
They spanw in three waves of three to five full stacks each.

    4. Do priests inside cities have effect on the religious percentage ?
    Definitely.

    5. Do assasins (or spies) in my own cities have an effect on population unrest ?
Yes they help lower it, and also root out enemy spies which may be causing unrest anyway.

    6. What governer stat has effect on unrest ?
None. The only thing that affects unrest are traits that give a negative bonus to unrest (like kind ruler).

    7. Is there a way to make a certain general the governor or do I have to move the other generals out first ?
The general with the highest piety will become governor.

    8. Is there any way to get rid of the animations between turns ? I don't mean the AI-moves (I turned them off) but the Princesses bowing and such. I mean ANY WAY AT ALL, they are very annoying... Like changing some video files or whatever.
    No.

    10. In what years do the bodyguards change ? Or is it releated to me having a large/huge city or fortress/citadel ?
Bodyguards are bugged, you never get the late or high ones.

    11. Untill when can I change my city to a castle ? I know wthat when I build an upgrade wall, I can no longer convert it, but can I keep the city growing untill it has like 14.000 population and THEN convert it ?
    No clear answer here.

    12. Once a Cardinal, does it matter what Piety he has (other then a higher % to vonvert heretics) ?
Yes, the three highest piety cardinals can become pope in an election.

    13. What's the best way / unit to defend against missiles ? Tight or loose formation ? BIG shield units ? Move around or stand still ? In a spearwall or wedge or that-round-thing-with-the-funny-name ?
Shielded units in loose formation that move around.

    14. What does loaylty do, except higher the cost of bribery ?
It gives less change for the general to rebel.

    15. What does Authority for the King do, except higher the cost of bribery ?
It gives less change for the generals to rebel.

Only the top 3 Cardinals with the highest piety can become Preferatis, meaning they're next in line for the Pope. When a papal election is called, only the Preferatis can be voted for.

    14. What does loaylty do, except higher the cost of bribery ?

I've only had it happen to me once, but disloyal generals have a tendency to rebel against your King's orders. They'll take their army and desert the kingdom.

    15. What does Authority for the King do, except higher the cost of bribery ?

Authority represents your King's grip on his nation. Higher Authority kings can make even low loyalty general's do things they don't want to do. The higher your Authority, the less likely your Generals will rebel.

    13. What's the best way / unit to defend against missiles ? Tight or loose formation ? BIG shield units ? Move around or stand still ? In a spearwall or wedge or that-round-thing-with-the-funny-name ?
I've never really analyzed this, but I know that units with shields only get their shield bonus if the missiles are comming at them from the front. I suppose that means if you're in schiltrom, you don't have a front. But generally, if you're getting pelted, put units with shield at the front. Loose formation also reduces ranged casualties.

    (8) there is no direct answer to this questions but you can speed the movement up by pressing the space bar and remember to turn the fog of war on I.E toggle_fow in the console

    (9) convert the population to your religion ,place taxs on low, keep spies outter your provinces using good spies, and a small mount of units in the settlement with a town hall.

    (10) The changes are around 1250ish i believe.

    (11) you cannot convert a huge town into a castle.

Are you sure about that? I alway thought that the early and late bodyguards are only present in the custom battles, and you are stuck with the early ones for the campaign?

    8. No. There is no way.

    9. You can't. They spawn randomly. You can change the spawn value in the descr_stat. Set it to 100 or higher.

    11. You can change a small city in to a castle.

14 and 15. Higher loyalty means that a unit is less likely to rebel. Higher authority means that other units will less likely rebel.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

I believe there is a bug in the vanilla campaign which prevents late period generals bodyguards in the campaign itself.
    I love you all!

Any units coming under missile fire set them to lose formation to limit casaulties.

Moving also reduces it again and the faster a unit moves the harder it is for the missiles to hit them.
