How do you form Union of Kalmar? I have heard that it was bugged. When you have controlled the whole of Scandinavia, would you be offered the Union directly or you need to send a diplomat to norway or would you need to destroy norway?

You need to control the cities: Kalmar, Göteborg, Visby, Upsalla, and Abo. After that you have to kill the Norwegian king. The best and safest way is to assassinate him. When he is dead your banners change and you get the Norwegian cities/castles/units. The special units like Gotland freemen are bugged. There is a thread which explains how to fix it.

You have the thing that says you'll get it when the norwegian king dies.

Old age will do let you get it.

Damn it. I just wiped out Norway. I just found out that i just needed to kill the king.

Is there any way to cheat, so that I still get the special units?

You're not missing out on much. The new units are pretty poor. Although the Gotland footmen are great the Svenner and Sami axemen are nothing special.
