(What is the best Spear and Pike unit in Stainless Steel?

For pike I'd say the Tercio Pikemen. I know Spain and the Crown of Aragon have them but perhaps Portugal as well.

All pikemen seem to be rediculously overpowered, nothing seems to stop them in melee, even flanks. So in my experience it is, anyway. They are amazing on walls as well, scaling or defending.

Pike is not overpowered at all. send some heavy infantry at them and they are toast.

Use some spear/shield equipt soldiers to hold them down, then swing around with any flavor of high dammage infantry from the sides/rear and you'll slaughter pikemen.

Isn't the byzantium pikemans one of the best, but if not them the swiss guard, for papal stats, are really good.

Yes, I have heard of heavy infantry, my issue is this:

Since about 4 soldiers can fight per 1 heavy infantry due to the long pikes, each infantry man is to busy being displayed the animation for being hit, that they never attack.

HRE Burgher pikeman took a wall with only 30 casualties from Imperial Knights due to this fact alone.
