I am personly having some issues with titles, both titles within the faction as governor titles.
I personly dont bother with transfering royal treasurer traits and such unless a family member or general happens to be close to the faction leader.
Considering governor titles, if a title is appointed to someone else and the one that looses the title gets the title stolen trait, this should go away when they gain a new title.
I also think that governors should automaticly be stripped of a title if they move out of their own province for more than a turn, making it available again. This is rather bothersome when your field general becomes governor of all kinds of cities while you send other newer generals behind them to the conquered cities to govern them.
Couldnt a system be made that allows you to assign the faction titles in some sort of list without having to put the two people that are involved in the same town or army? I find this system completely useless at the moment.
An other option would be to make faction members earn a title. The one that commands the most cavalry could become master of the horse, the one that governs the city that provides the most income could become royal treasurer, etc.
I also would like to note that the hospitaller knights assign their grandmaster rather random. I think that only a general that governs a city with a chapterhouse could become a master.
