    Default AI never attacks small isles

    AI almost never attack small isles.Why?
    I have crussade on Antioch with my French empire.After crussade I took Nicosia,Byzantine castle on the smal isle.After that i never have problem and never been attacked.
    Rhodes too.Thats cool for me.You dont have to create big garrision.

    Venice, Sicily and Byzantine normally invade islands in my game.

    I always have to defend Crete from invasions. The other islands, not so much.

    Play SS 5.1. Island invasions are happening every turn or so.
    Baird: "Hey! Stop shooting it, you're pissing it off!"

    Cole: "You're telling me what not to shoot in here? Look at this ****!"

    Ajjacio is getting under siege every other turn by, portugal, sicilly, byzantine, moors, luckily I offer them cease fire when they seem to want it (very expensive tough for them). And Im currently playing as Milan.

    In rtw I never got that city attacked where palermo is (dunno the name maybe its the same), I had it the whole game since I occupied it without getting it attacked, just a few town watches there.

    Playing SS 5.1 as Norway, and Russia is invading Gothland (the island east of Sweden in the baltic sea) I have to keep a strong garrison there.

    I am not really sure, but i think the 1.02 patch solved this problem.

    I CANT INSTAL 1.02 I HAVE PROBLEM WITH MY VOICE3 FILE AND I MUST TO PLAY WITH 1.1.

    have you tried reinstalling the game? after that the problem still occurs?

    i have problems when installing my mtw2 for the 1st time.data1.pack...voice3...but I ignore them and finish my installation.My game works fine but i cant instal 1.02 so and the kingdoms

    assuming from what you said, your dvds might be damaged....try cleaning the disc with a soft cotton cloth, and then reinstalling again...and if the warning appears you should try clicking the retry button (or something like that) :wink:

    In my game everyone loves to attack islands...except Scotland. They like to LEAVE the island and attack the mainland!

    Each island is different. There are no naval paths to Cyprus/Nicosia on the vanilla map and the only ones for Rhodes are one-way only i.e crete->rhodes and smyrna->rhodes. It's not a patch issue it's a map thing.

    When you say naval paths what exactly do you mean?
    Because in vanilla mode iirc Rhodes doesn't have a way to get troops on the island, other than with a fleet.

    You're not kidding I play SS 4.1 and in my Danish Campaign Sicily took Sardinia .Milan took Corsica, And strangely enough the turks took the Byzintine island (forgot the name) so yeah I would suggest downloading a mod or something if you want numerous island invasions.

    The AI can't path-find between every coastal/island region and every other one (for some reason). There's only a limited number of paths that work. They don't always work in both directions either. You can occasionally create a new one by moving the ports/towns around.

    I've never managed to figure out exactly how the game decides which naval routes work and which don't though. I think it may be something to do with the closest tile in an x or y direction but with some other factor involved too. Naval landings happen too randomly to test easily so i haven't spent much time on it.

    Nicosia/Cyprus on the vanilla map is one example that has no valid naval paths from the AI's point of view. You can get the AI to land there from Rhodes if you move the town to a different spot. I was actually trying to create a path Antioch->Nicosia though so i gave up after a bit.
